this game is looking very good... but the boy its a little... different... like someone said I don't know if I like it or not...

Super Sonic will probably change back and forth between hedgehog and werehog midfight.

Wait, wait. Do you realize that the Super Sonic's werehog form is probably going to look like DBGT's Golden Oozaru? Wow.

 

At least this boss serves a graphical purpose -- showing off the ambient lighting effects the way Chaos was designed to be all "HEY LOOK WE'RE DOING TRANSLUCENT POLYGONS NOW TOO!"

 

He has a head like a hammerhead shark...

And are those freakin' Teeth? I've seen this image back when we pulled it from the FTP, but I never noticed the teeth-cheek-face.

I present Super Sonic the Werehog.


Yay, boredom.

Yes, this took about 25 minutes.

 

One thing though. The werehog in many ways is an Emerald transformation (A side effect of sorts). When Sonic repowers all the chaos emeralds, won't he simply go back to normal?

 

I dunno. It seems to be a bit of a gray area actually. If you remember, Pefect Chaos was the result of the negative Chaos Emerald energy, and Super Sonic was of the positive. The werehog is a side effect of being exposed to negative Chaos energy. Now when all seven are recharged, it may change him back, but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to use the positive energy of the Emeralds and be in werehog form. I mean...medicine doesn't cure an illness just like that. I imagine it could be a gradual process, that he could be in Super form as the werehog while the positive Emerald energy is slowly getting rid of the corrupted DNA, if you will.

Thing is, we won't fucking know until next month. It's a fun idea at least.

You say that like Sonic games actually have to make sense :x, which apparently they don't if recent times are any indication.

 

I think any idea of 'sense' went out the window post-SA2 :P

 

Sonic Unleashed is getting a developer blog on IGN

I was hoping for something like this but wasn't expecting it to actually happen (and I imagined it being on 1up).


A high resolution version of this would be an epic desktop background.

I've said this before, but I hope that it turns out that Dark Gaia is really the Werehog's fight, and you fight Eggman as regular Sonic at the end.

Edit: I didn't notice what eggman was doing in the small one, but is he on the ground begging for mercy D: ?

 

Not to ruin your hopes, but how do you know it isn't part of the story beginning? Remember, Eggman gets SuperSonic into a trap.

New wii trailer. Nothing too new when it comes to normal Sonic, but it shows the wii's werehog, specifically that it will be extremely gesture-based. Not that that should be surprising to anyone.

 

..wow. I can't believe I'm saying this, but, I actually LOVE Sonic's new voice in this. All the "woo-hoo!"s and "yea!"s fit Sonic so well, and they aren't ear grating at all.
