  1. Anyone remember Magicgrafx? Yes?

Well, since them's links to Chaomega, Sonic unity beta and basically everything are dead, I found them on an old CD =P

the Art of Sonic Unity Beta was in one Sonic 2 hack or something or in ProSonic or whatever aswell.

    Sonic Unity Beta
    Sonic Chaos Revolution² Demo
    Chaomega Beta Demo

    Have fun =P

    Holy hell I remember these
Back then Chaomega was like the god of all fangames. I wish they completed it :(

Holy crap, I remember going to that site a very long time ago. I loved playing those Sonic fangames back then.

I can't believe that site is still up.

I remember this being my first introduction to the fan game community. It's as if it were yesterday when I was checking out the site for Sonic Unity, and how surprised I was when the beta came out.

    Ah, those were the days~

Ha, I just revisited that site last week too! I wonder what Aytac AKSU would think of the Sonic fan games of today if he were still around. I'm sure he would be quite impressed with Sonic Nexus and maybe some of the 3D efforts too.

Yeah he did a lot with a little back then. Funny thing though he always used the built in platform movement even as static engines were all the rage.

Back then it was acceptable to still use Platform engines, as a 12 year old it was the only thing I could get my head around :P
Ah, the memories of wipping up a random game in a couple of months. My highlight was having a demo of mine featured on Jamie Bailey's website, fat chance of that happening nowadays :(

Maybe I'll finish BFTF one day, even if it is just using the Sonic Worlds engine.

Damn I remember these. Oh the memories. I'll be damned though Sonic Chaos Revolution 1 was a bitch.

It was a shame Unity was never finished. It looked like a pretty good game, especially by 2002 standards. Fuck still better than some of the shit churned out these days.

Sort of not really, not by the time that Sonic Unity demo came out for sure. Aytac's games were kind of the exception though because he used the built in platform movement so well.

Anyone remember TGF Team's fan games I always though they were pretty good, especially that Bladerunners SX and Sonic 2099.

TGF Team was behinds the QTE series right? I always liked their games. Anyone remember Gregorsoft? They were behind the Sonic Ultra games. I liked their stuff too.

I know both the guys who worked on Chaomega very well =P

I remember Sonic Omega. I think I actually beat it once back then, when I was... 10 or 11.
I used to play more fangames than real games. Sonic fan games had such an amazing influence on me, and I even tried for years to make my own. Brings back memories to play them again. I think I still have a bunch on my external hard drive from when I backed up the Pentium 2 I used back in the day. I might have some interesting ones to discover again.

Gregorsoft was just one guy, Gregor Dick, aka Oogaland. He's still around, except now he's working on stuff of actual merit, namely a level editor for SRB2. Busy chap, though.

Holy crap, I remember playing these games back before the site shut down. It was pretty disappointing to see an end to Unity and Chaomega. And I remember Chaos Revolution being as hard as hell. I tried to search for the original Chaos a while back, but surprisingly enough I could only find the Game Gear game. =P

  16. I find it strange that I couldn't play these games all those years ago because something was wrong with the old Windows 95 we had. Now fast forward to 2010, I have a Gateway Laptop with Windows 7 and behold!

    ...I still can't play a damn thing.

They always looked pretty awesome, Sonic Chaos was my first introduction in fan gaming and my first realization that just because you have a computer, it can't do everything.
