That was quick. Since my last update I fixed the collision issues, did background deformations, made the level demos, edited the title screen menu, and edited the credits!

So, here's what I'm thinking: Fixing the bosses is the only thing left that still needs to be done. So, I'm going to do that and then the game will be finished and released. The things that I said were optional (quicksand object, ice object, waterslide object, beta sonic & tails on the title screen) might show up in a REV01 if I have time and can figure them out.

So, things are still looking good. I'm way ahead of where I thought I would be. I'm still hoping to have this done over summer and it looks like it's going to happen.

When you say fixing the bosses, what do you mean?

For each one, I had to edit the values for where they appear in the level and even though they all show up and work, some have either a graphical glitch or technical glitch. (Arrows don't show up with the boss from ARZ) What's wierd is, in debug mode, the graphical glitches some bosses have don't happen when they first appear but then if they go off the screen and come back on the glitch happens. So, I'm hoping it won't be too big of a problem to fix.

Well, after working on this hack for 3 years, it's finally done. A lot of work went into this. I hope it turned out good. Download, enjoy, and post what you think about it.
    Here's the link: Download
(Level Select code is the same as Sonic 2)

Checked this out earlier when you uploaded it and I can see that you've worked well on this, the only issues are a few incompatibilities with Gens, which really is annoying (a few levels pink screen'd after the title card). Other than that, good work!

Yeah, the Crocbots are displaying random tiles. Other then that, I'm on Dust Hill Act 2 and liking this.

    I can't download the file.

"The key you provided for file download was invalid. This is usually caused because the file is no longer stored on Mediafire. This occurs when the file is removed by the originating user or Mediafire."

EDIT: Okay. I managed to download the file now. No error was returned. What?

    And Credits Zone = <3

    Working on my art!
Liking what I see so far, however I have one thing that bugs me with Dust Hill Zone.

The sand that you fall into has got to be more distinguishable. Having that sand move slightly does not help when you're running fast and can't distinguish what's moving or not. You just fall through shit.

I was going to say that I can't make out pits in any of the levels I've tried, but I figured that maybe it was my grainy screen -- now I know it's not just me. The fact that you're using the moving sand in Dust Hill was established, but in Rock and Winter Zone I can't make out where the pits are because the foreground and background use such similar colors. Also, if you're going to keep that many pits, more checkpoints would help.

Other than that, the effort put into this hack does show; it just takes putting up with a lot to see most of it.

    A project hack? Finished? :v:

Yeah. Those pits man. They kill everybody and then laugh at their mothers. I didn't like them UNTIL I saw the reaction of everybody else. Like one of those trick hard japanese platformers where everything is out to get you and it is hilarious. "What's that Mr. Cloud? You are harmless in the background? ...NOooo Mr. Cloud YOU LIED TO ME! YOU AREN'T HARMLESS AT ALL!"

I'd love to watch a Lets Play of this where they haven't played it before.

Least it's not like IWBTG hard. [/offtopic]

Pretty sure the pits can be worked around but you know we can always explore around the stage and expect where they appear. It's good to expect the unexpected.

I kind of like the sand pits. Instead of the "WOAH-OH, quicksand?! Oh no, what will I do? Jump-jump-jump-jump", it's more like "Speeding through a level? FUCK YOU."

I'm sad to say I haven't had the chance to play very far into this. I quickly perused through most of the levels via level select though, and I like what I see. Cyber City is amazing.

Anyway, what I've seen of this hack so far lives up to my expectations, and it's VERY nice to actually see a hack get completed for once. I can't congratulate you enough. =)

You need to color the sand pits differently so I can see them (SO difficult to make out), or somehow figure out how to do it like the Oil Ocean oil.

All the art is awesome, music ports are good (something that seems a bit of...rare nowadays, and something I'm working around a lot at my hack. Feel free to kill me, people)... This almost makes me feel like I should work on Sonic 2.

    Nice job!
