    I thought someone would notice. The columns gave it away right?

    Yea the new zones I did were built off other zones to save time. Desert Zone was built off Emerald Hill, Winter Zone was built off Desert Zone obviously, Rock Zone was built off Aquatic Ruin Zone and Cyber City Zone was built off Metropolis Zone. I figured, in any zone, there's always gonna be some flat ground, slopes, and loops so I decided to save time by not starting them all from scratch. I didn't just open Sonic 2 with SonED and start editing though. There's a lot more work than that. Don't worry, these levels will be worth playing.

    Oh wait now I do, and I must say it looks fantastic. Ya I could tell it's ARZ by the level layout too.

    Some very, Very good stuff so far. Most of the Art looks a Little DOS-Esque in my eye's, but that doesn't mean it's nesciserly bad. Heck, it's Wonderful to Look at

    Im looking Foward to seeing further updates on this.

    A little update. First, I made a small fix to the title screen from before.

    I fixed up Casino Night Zone so the few problems where art overlaps in VRAM doesn't happen and I fixed the collision problem on the conveyor. It turns out that those blank looking blocks you see in the Beta are actually the same numbered blocks that use the animations from the final Casino Night Zone, so they were probably going to be used even when it looked like this.

    I also fixed up Wood Zone so it looks more finished. I didn't even have to touch the 8x8 tiles or 16x16 mappings, just the 128x128 mappings. I fixed what was there and added some more.

    Am I the only one who's gonna have a finished Wood Zone?

    So, it's finally time to start on level layouts, which I decided I'll be using SonED2 instead of SonED for obvious reasons. The only other things to do are the debug lists, demos, and change the credits picture.

    And, ZOMG, my last trial post! Hopefully I'll get approved.

    Please say that you don't fall through the roofs on the Wood Zone tunnels. If you can, then it's an unfinished Wood Zone, like every other version, ever.

    Anyways, Like everyone said above. Rock zone Is beautiful. Your colors are awesome. This whole hack, taking the scrapped levels and turning them into their own seperate game. Very, very nice. :D

    You don't fall through the roofs on the Wood Zone tunnels.

    I was only thinking about Wood Zone in it's original look. Good point though, yours is completed.

    Actually, I'm pretty sure you do fall through the roof, unless you meant you already did something about it. Dealing with the Wood zone tunnels were a pain, I'll admit. But even if you have areas in which you don't make physical contact with the tunnel roof, there's still a another somewhat rather annoying problem with the tunnels, in which you have to jump inorder to go through, instead of just running through. You can, if you want, change the bottom parts of the tunnels to have no solidity, and then use another tile to act as the surface.

    Sonic-Hachelle Bee's Wood Zone was the most finished in his Long Version hack IIRC. (at least to my knowledge)
    Let's see how you guys did when you release your hacks in the future.
    I'm curious. :)

    I wasn't thinking about doing any demos. The thing is, it might not be that much longer before it's finished. If I don't have any more big delays, I could have this released before summer or maybe over summer. Right now I'm doing level layouts. Once those are done the only other things to do are setting starting locations, level sizes, background cameras, layer deformation, and demos. The only other thing is to either remove 2 player from the title screen menu or figure out how to fix it so the levels in 2 player don't have messed up graphics. So, there's still a lot to do with level layouts but, it's looking pretty good.

    And thanks for the comments. Looks like people like Rock Zone. Maybe since it's more original.

    Here's some screens to show the progress I made since the last post. I've been doing the floor part of the level layouts first and the size and start locations. Once those are all done I'll go back and put in rings and sprites. So the first 3 zones now have the floor layouts done.

    Look familiar? I made a little art and palette fix for Desert Zone.

    After I first did these layouts, I ended up going back and making improvments to make them more fun. So they took a little longer. I'm still hoping to get this released around the time of the contest. We'll see what happens. That's all for now!
