Thanks for the updated release Hez. Might give this a whirl later. It has been years since I've played this. Fantastic game.
How is this a fix version? The game starts off on Gigalopolis act 1 Then to Hazel Hill Act 2? That doesn't make sense... It felt like you rushed on this or something. I think you should double check your game please to make sure it's in the right order. I'm just pointing this out, that's all.
Oops! I did rush that fix. Good catch! Relinked in case it changed http://www.mediafire.com/download/r1hfqy7wkna3ywq/S_Classic1Rev03.5_FULL.rar I updated this in Fusion 2.5....I'm wondering if new bugs are presenting themselves because of this.
Hez, you forgot something. It's never a bug, it's a feature. Call it a shout-out to Flying Battery Zone or Marble Zone.
Thanks man. I will report here if there's more goofs and bugs (funny thing there are some but I forgot what they were).
So, Act 2 of that water level before Robot Rave... don't remember what it's called. BUT it's broken as all hell since none of the air bubble spawns actually spawn bubbles. Without a bubble shield you're basically dead. Also that #/# Ring counter is broken. I play one silver ring mission and it's been /7 ever since regardless of what I play. Speaking of Silver Rings, there's a random one lying around Robot Rave Act 2 for some reason. And at the end of that act I started slowly falling from the air after a ramp. Then there are those Super Rings that don't work from time to time. Fun game, much less buggy than the last time I played it, but still kinda buggy unfortunately.
Another odd thing I would like to mention. I just downloaded and launched the most recent version. I waited too long, and the demo started, except it wasn't a demo and I could play for the duration till I got sent back to the title. The hud was also messed up and looked like debug mode. -Edit- Even trying to play the game I'm running into issues. First it doesn't recognize my motionjoy controller, so I switch to a 360 one, but the controls are all sorts of wonky. Y is Start I guess? It was the only button that let me select anything, then once ingame I can pause, but then nothing lets me unpause. I had to get up and hit Esc for it to resume. I also tried to mess with Fullscreen in the Options, but my display went weird on my second monitor, then got stuck like that. I had to delete the settings file so I could un-fullscreen.
I think it'd be easier to wait for Classic 2. I've played this pretty early and remember being stuck midgame. Next time I wanted to play again, Classic 2 was confirmed to have Classic stages, so at this point, I see no reason to return to this.
Don't know if you still care, but it looks like some of the Missions are bugged. I just spent I don't know how long working on the 250 Rings Challenge for Hazel Hills Act 1, and finished somewhere around 280 Rings. It didn't register as having completed the Mission. Yes, I didn't drop a single Ring, and only got hit at the last second while I had a Bubble Shield. I'm guessing that either 1: the second-page missions don't work, or 2: the game is set to remove Rings from the counter upon getting hit, rather than looking at my in-game counter to see if I finished with enough Rings. Like I said, you're nearly done with the second game, which is supposed to have all of the levels and Missions from the first game, so it's not that big of a deal. Still, I thought you might want to know about the bug, just in case you either wanted to fix it, or make sure you didn't accidentally carry it over into the next game.
I'm beginning to think the upgrade to fusion broke a few things. Side note, not sure if SC2 is worth finishing now that we actually have a game coming out that is official =D
Yours is still different enough though that I would still enjoy seeing Sonic Classic 2. Can never have enough Classic Sonic goodness. I'd say the only project that is redundant due to Sonic Mania now is Sonic Megamix, since half that team seems to be working on Mania anyway.
I might have worded that bad. I'll still probably work on SC2 at my leisure. I'd kill to get paid for my work =D
It'd be sad to see SC2 die, given how much delicious content it's supposed to have. It's like the best companion game to Sonic Mania.
It was shown on a local station two or three years ago. This might be the same clip. If not, its a different occasion. I'd be insane if it was shown twice.
The only relevant story I can find on the KARE11 site is about the Video Game Hall of Fame from May: http://www.kare11.com/news/nation-now/space-invaders-the-sims-enter-video-game-hall-of-fame/174018091 And only because it mentions Sonic once
