I did like the kind of "Hidden Palace" kind of feel I got from them... as in that it was one big cavern looking thing where they were found, but I do love the Sonic Chaos ones quite a bit. They look phenomenal!
Guess it's going to end up like HPZ? Maybe its a curse? I might add it as a secret level or something? I'm not sure
Wish I had more time on my hands mate and the tools to do it. I would have made you my adaptation of how HPZ should have been fully finished and hopefully interesting.
Not sure if it's been mentioned already, but I'm sure many have already experienced the killer floating platforms in Hazel Hill Act 2. It seems like every platform will kill you if you try to jump on it from directly underneath it. The bottom side behaves like a set of spikes. Is that supposed to happen?
No need for unnecessary bumps when there's nothing to say about the subject, man. I thought there would be new info, too.
nothing new. It'll basically be released when my beta testers deside to finally get back to me. I haven't worked on it in a month because of it :\
I don't wanna sound pressuring or offending but while you don't get feedbacks from the betatesters, isn't there anything you can refine or improve regarding some minor aspects of the game or physics?
Is there still plans in place to port the assets of this to a hack or other engine? I was surprised it was even MMF after seeing the video. It's very well put together, but MMF engines have quirks which I can't help noticing all the time and I'd love it if it was ported. Instantly it can be ran on many platforms then too.
Wasn't someone (StephenUK, perhaps?) in the preliminary stages of helping Hez to port it ‘back’ to the Mega Drive? Unless I'm thinking of a completely different fan-game. [answers own question by searching] Yes; yes, he was. See this and later posts.
That was 10 months ago, sadly Stephen had an injury that greatly slowed him down in his work. I wouldn't count on that I'm afraid
Stephen had planned on porting it, yes. I also have been making minor adjustments along with new special stages (old concept was good on paper, but sucked in game play). Some Sonic 1 levels aren't present yet, but easily copy and pasted from Sonic 1 PC (earlier project of mine)
If you need some alternate beta testers, I've had a lot of free time lately. Not sure if you're interested in alternatives like that though; up to you. Bit of a relief to hear that this is the only thing causing the delay though. :v:
I'm still willing to do it, I just thought it made more sense to wait until you have the final version, as it will make it easer to keep track of where I'm up to. All I need is a copy of the source once you've finished and it shouldn't take that long to port after that. As for beta testing, if you want I can test it and give you some direct feedback. It'd actually help me work out just how much of a job it will be to port this.
