If they are game breaking glitches, yes. I plan on releasing something along the lines of "revision patches", kind of like the rev's of the original games. I'm hoping to have to fix minimal amounts. Also, now's your time to speak up for unlockable content :P
Unlockable content eh? How about Metal Sonic, Sonic 2 style sprites, and debug mode, because messing around with Sonic 3 and Knuckles in debug mode is always fun
Damn now I'm pretty unsure about it, has Knuckles been confirmed as playable? If not then having him as an unlockable content would be cool
I don't know your policy on the special stages, but maybe a Special Stage attack or somthing? Like how Sonic CD had that thing where you could time attack the special stages.
Delay? Good. Fix what needs to be fixed, and release it when you feel it is ready. Don't set a time for yourself, as it puts more pressure to meet specified dates with projects like these. New stuff? SWEET. Can't wait for more!
Special stage is already on a time limit in itself =P Although I could just make a mode where you have to find all 7 in one run?
I made this sprite sheet for Metal Sonic a while back for a hack I never really got off the ground, I don't know if you would want to use it, but if you want to go right ahead. Might need some work and more animations though, depending on what your game needs anyway. Also the frames are meant to fit Sonic 1 animations, but they use a Sonic 2 palette if that makes any difference
That's pretty awesome. As for unlockables, perhaps an option for two followers or having Knuckles as a follower? (I always wanted to ride on Knuckles back).
Great to hear it's still being worked on. Can't wait for the actual release. Out of curiosity, what exactly is this made in/with? I want to say I heard of Sonic Classic being ported to other consoles such as Dreamcast, but I've probably got things mixed up with the old Retro Sonic games or something.
Basic as in how, just rolling and jumping like Sonic? That's fine too I was thinking of adding that move of his from Sonic CD where he becomes harmful to touch, although maybe make it look like the black shield from SA2 since they're the same basic idea. That and use his his SA2 Sonic differences, faster acceleration but harder to stop. Oh and perhaps his spindash can break through spikes like in SCD (BTW as far as the sprites are concerned the rolling sprites were originally only going to be used for things like the special stage, the S tubes, and of course jumping, what I intended to do was use those SCD charging sprites as a spin dash/roll move instead. Metal's Spin dash is more of a charge up, which is why I didn't use the normal ducking sprite that Sonic has)
Just make it so Metal goes into maximum overdrive (fireball thingy) at top speed and he's basically invulnerable if he keeps his speed up, being able to plow through anything. I mean, it IS an unlockable character.
That's a good idea too. I never thought of that when I was thinking about what moves to give Metal for my hack
Right now I'm just having a hell of a time with the final boss. Basically...is it too hard? is it too easy? It's VERY hard to get that perfect medium.
Make it POSSIBLE to win without getting hit. Don't make it easy to win without getting hit. Well designed bosses in sonic games should always have you scrambling for your last ring the first time.
Or heck make it to where you don't get any rings for the final boss. Then you probably won't want to get hit anyway. :v:
This. I am debating on giving you a shield or not. It'll be hidden of course. Also, This SHOULD keep everyone busy with replayability.
