What I think might (?) be new is Knuckles' release window of "Holiday 2023". Ivo said it so casually during the Sonic Central, I don't think anyone took note. Maybe I've forgot something but I don't think I have.

 

Interesting that they're pressing onward despite the WGA strike and the potential SAG strike. Hopefully production won't be impacted much by the writers' strike (and/or actors' strike if that happens).

 

Like mentioned beforehand, the December window is too good to pass up. The script was completed before the strike occurred so they're in the clear unless they for some reason want to do rewrites. They can't at that point. Paramount is not going to apply the breaks unless they don't have a choice like the SAG strike going through.

 

With how much more tinkering a lot of the jokes in Sonic 2 needed, I find it hard to believe that they'd bother with rewrites even if they were in the position to.

 

But bro...what if the bad jokes were the rewrites...

I guess this means that the last shred of hope about Jim Carrey's involvement can be definitely ruled out

 

I wonder if they're currently doing the camera work for scenes only containing CG characters. The actors are still all on strike, so they can't really film anything else.

 

Actual filming doesn't start until the literal end of August so this is just pre-production work like set design and getting references for CG work. The production of Sonic 3 isn't affected by the strike unless it starts creeping into late August. At that point, they could probably shift focus to just doing the CG only scenes. They can't change anything with the script like adding more CG only scenes or removing scenes that require live actors. The script was completed before the writers strike, and they're also on strike so no modifications can be made.

There's a sign that literally says Sonic 3. It's the very first photo posted.

That guy is reaching. Cudi's tweet means nothing. Like I mentioned before, the strikes doesn't halt any other production processes. Only things involving the actors and the scripts are haulted.

 

Does that thing still exist?

There is something so surreal about seeing Kid Cudi talking about being on set to help create a show in the Sonic Franchise. Good on him, he deserves the success but I would've never believed it in a million years if you told me this would happen a decade ago.
