Finally! It's production time! Didn't expect the hat.

 

Honestly, I think this series is the perfect opportunity to introduce Rouge. Like, what if Wade is after her? I think it's a cool plotline.

I dunno man, just a fun theory.

 

I really like your idea.

As is, the show’s logline/premise isn’t exciting to me. There isn’t anything inherently sonicy so far, other than Knuckles. I was really hoping they could use the show to adapt knuckles’ story from Sonic Adventure. I’d be fine with Wade being Knuckles’ side kick so long as other sonic characters and/or locations are included. Maybe my hopes were unrealistic for a tv show. I’ll wait for a trailer to judge

 

These guys have no idea how to make a story without pairing a Sonic character with a cop.

 

I hope the chaotix appear in this one

 

I personally think this is a big miss. I'm sure there were budget concerns preventing them from being ambitious, but they were already struggling to involve the human characters in the second film and now they're bringing in more?
And out of all the human characters to expand on they picked Wade. Stone would have been far better choice to build a story with as an antagonist since he's a favorite.

Of course I could be dead wrong and they're bringing Kid Cudi to voice a crocodile and Edi might voice another character. Maybe a bat. With big boobs.

 

I don't like Wade either, but I will forgive that if we at least got into Knuckles' trible lore.

Also, hope we will see the weird creatures we saw in the mushroom planet in the opening of Sonic 2.

 

I'm not really surprised they gave him a human buddy to bounce off of. I've seen a lot of negativity but I'm still looking forward to this just as much as I was before tbh.

Also also Knuckles has the hat I think that's the coolest I love the OVA

 

Wondering if Ken Penders misread the news and angrily thought Shade was coming back.

 

Maybe they're trying to hide the "surprise" as possible in the synopsis? Not trying to cope, but.... y'never know.

But yeah, we gonna have wait for the trailer.

 

Tbf I was thinking the same thing. With Sonic Movie 2 we knew that Tails was gonna be in it cuz of the post credit scene. But, if I recall correctly, we did not officially know about Knuckles until the trailer for movie 2 (the set photos and copyright filings don’t count as official announcements.) As such I absolutely could see another Sonic character being reveled in the trailer.

 

Wade barely appeared in S2, only had one or two scenes. Interesting that they would put more focus on him for the series.

Perhaps Metal Sonic will be the main villain. Knuckles vs Metal could be epic.

 

I would not be surprised if they were holding off with Stone since he will likely be the main villain for the third movie; pending on if Jim Carry is willing to return.

My prediction is that this series is probably going to focus on the Mobian characters' homeworlds and Wade will be your typical audience surrogate for the characters to explain stuff to. Or comedic relief. Or both!

 

I'd rather all the effort and money be used towards the third movie instead of creating serialised spinoff material but that's just me. Put the time, resources, money, energy and talent into the next movie. Of course, I mean in addition to what's already allotted for the next movie. Put every drop of sweat and blood into the next movie. That's my philosophy. Make number three the most spectacular movie of the 21st century or at least die trying.

 

I kinda have to agree. It's getting out of hand. I mean, how much Sonic can one take? Crazy this is even thing. On the other hand, I don't care. Just hoping they don't cut any corners and take their sweet time to make sure it's going to be a wholesome show. Wow, I sound like Boom Knuckles.

 

I'm happy to see Knuckles as a headline character again in any capacity but I'm similarly vexed by the fact that they seemingly just don't have anything better to offer than "uhhhhhh knuckles........ has a human too lol".

Paramount should really let Tyson or someone who actually gives a fuck bake the whole cake from scratch instead of letting them toss a few sprinkles on top at the end.

 

Patrick Casey seems to actually be a pretty big Sonic fan. Seeing what he's done so far I trust him with the brand. Not sure if he's working on this show or not.

 

Yeah, I wouldn't make the claim that the staff doesn't care about the brand. They clearly do care, but their hands are tied by what Paramount allows them to do.
This isn't like a Mario situation where Nintendo had weight behind the production decisions in the film.

 

I imagine there's going to be at least SOME lore from Adventure here since it's the Knuckles show and it would be a good opportunity to bridge the gap beween Sonic 2's mostly classic lore and 3's Adventure 2/Shadow material we'll likely be getting, maybe we can even get Knuckles to fight Chaos if we're lucky
