Sonic the Hedgehog Cinematic Universe Thread (& Knuckles)

I think the reaction to the sequel's going to be similar to the first one, but bigger — "Oh wow that was better than I expected." The difference is that, the first time, everyone was expecting it to be dog shit... but it ended up being competent and charming! Now there's some goodwill built up and people are expecting competent and charming, but I think we're going to see bigger action/adventure set-pieces and more of the Sonic IP in play, while still being an approachable family film.

Reactions to the first one: "Wow that didn't absolutely suck. In fact it was pretty good!"
Reactions to the second: "Wow that was actually... really great. Oh my god, what world is this? Am I really a fan of the Sonic the Hedgehog film franchise?!"

 

Among the spanish dubbers of the first film, Sonic got his usual spanish VA, which, in my mind, is essentially Boom Sonic (and Robin in Teen Titans Go!). I don't know if Ben Schwartz had a spanish dubber before, but, with Knuckles, I am now unironically wondering if we'll get Elba's spanish voice, Boom Knuckles VA, or TTG! Cyborg VA.

 

So how will they incorporate "Do you know the way?" into the movie?

Maybe we'll just get an Ugandan Knuckles drawing instead.

 

Is Knuckles' hat going to be on fire, though?

I'll admit, the Sanic meme reference was pretty clever and funny in the first film but I wouldn't be a fan of shoehorned memes

I’d rather Elba use an American accent for Knuckles personally. I’m already sick to death of “bri’ish” jokes about in general, I don’t want to see more fuel for that fire.

 

They could have a bit where Knuckles asks someone "Do you know the way" to a specific area. People who are aware of the meme will get the reference while those unfamiliar will see it as a legit question.

 

This is probably most natural way to use this meme without being too obvious about it.
