That's completely fair tbh, I just think the hype made people be a little too crazy about it. Don't get me wrong tho', I'm still fucking hyped for this movie. And what makes this kinda funny is we had to wait 10 months for the first trailer of Sonic 2 when it was announced (as a trailer) and I don't remember being this impatient lol. Maybe the hype wasn't as big back in the time.

But I'm pretty sure once the trailer drops, Paramount will definely go hard on the marketing and they will spam Shadow's face everywhere to be sure you'll see it.

Another "but" but yeah, the leaks also definely didn't help with everyone's patience about the trailer and I don't remember having this much leak back in 2021-2022 either. So it's another completely valid reason to people (and me) be like that as well.

 

Waiting for the first movies re-design trailer was unbearable for me. I’ve always wanted a live action Sonic so I was mega hyped to begin with. I did not totally hate the first design and it was 6 months until the redesign reveal. They should have shown him in a promo image sooner to ease the wait.

I’ve been preoccupied with Ghostbusters Frozen Empire and other stuff so this hasn’t felt as long to me. We already knew what Shadow looked like.

 

According to on-channel advertisements, Knuckles will air on Nickelodeon starting August 12.

 

A Sonic show airing on Nickelodeon... I never knew such a thing could happen.

I'd say it'd make a bunch of sense for the previous shows to air on Nicktoons as well but we live in an era where that channel is 24/7 SpongeBob and they air advertisements that act like that's a good thing. Premium channel BTW!

 

I'm pretty sure it's just some special event. This year does mark the 25th anniversary of that show's premiere.

 

They have aired both Sonic movies on Nickelodeon, though the first one way more. Bit surprising to see a Paramount+ show air, but IIRC, the Rugrats reboot started on P+, and eventually started airing on TV too.

I do find it kind of weird that they cut the "You son of a-" line from Tom when he attacks Robotnik near the end of the movie. Don't think anything else was changed, but I could be wrong.

 

I feel like the channel has been inching towards this regardless of any anniversary incentive. It's just kinda upsetting for me lol.

I'm aware the movies have aired before, but it's still pretty fascinating to me.
I think I saw they awkwardly cut "piece of shiitake" in 2 but I wouldn't know what else.

 

I'm pretty sure that Nick also cut swearing and adult jokes from their showings of the (2010s) live action TMNT movies.

Which is really bizarre to me, since aren't those movies PG-13 anyway?

Definitely fake. Look at the cover. Nobody would make a “Making of” paper back of all things for an unreleased movie. Surprised it’s still available to purchase.

 

Oh absolutely. I am morbidly curious about what is actually being sold here. Like, if someone were to purchase it and have it delivered, what would be found in the pages of a book with a (bad) fan created cover like that? But, I am not gonna be the one to buy it myself lol. Maybe it'll have just a few Wikipedia or internet articles copied/pasted. Or, plot twist: the pages are blank. Total prank. I wonder if they've sold any copies yet, though.

 

The description looks AI generated so I would not be surprised if the contents are too. It seemingly describes Sonic as being an actor for the movie excited to see Jeff Fowler's new script.

 

Chances are that it's some AI generated schlock. Such things are a all over the shop nowadays, but Amazon doesn't really give a shit. Quite often, small time authors and other creators have their work ripped off and price gouged. At least in this case the IP holders aren't going to suffer, but anyone who innocently buys this, probably fit their kid, will get stung.

 

That cover is some hilarious trash, though. Espio is the only one that looks like he was made with some neural net.

Haha, it's a poorly edited version of what I believe to be the fan model for a hypothetical Movie Metal Sonic - the chest is actually just a stretched out drone badnik.

 

The first one reminds me of Sticks, to be honest, and the second one is... Femetal Sonic.
