So, Debug Mode was found back in late March of last year by @SteveBlockhead here. A year ago, @RyogaMasaki found the proper flags for activating debug. Today, we have found the proper inputs for enabling debug mode, and I have verified this on my arcade hardware. Crossposting instructions I made from tcrf. This can be performed on both MAME and ElSemi's emulator. Enjoy!
Oh wow! Great find, love when stuff like this gets uncovered. Hopefully people might dig a little deeper into this game with this, or something. Thanks a ton!
I'm gonna drop some of the more interesting findings here from my hardware that we can't currently see on an emulator:
I'm working on the next article for this now, including the Virtua Fighter 2 and Fighting Vipers aspects. Here's some of the shots I posted in the other thread: (kanji says 仮 temporary)
The article is finished: http://sudden-desu.net/entry/debug-...fighting-vipers-and-sonic-the-fighters-part-2 Enjoy the debug tools. I'm mostly moving on to other projects, but I think @biggestsonicfan is gonna find and post more fun discoveries.
This is a really cool find! I assume the codes wouldn't work on any of the ports, if for no other reason than there not being a Service SW input?
Correct. I have not verified XBL/PSN, but Gems Collection debug mode isn't possible as P2 START isn't mapped to activate the menu.
