So Sonic Superstar’s soundtrack has been… divisive and inconsistent to say the least. As such I thought it would be cool to create a thread where people could post remixes/covers they found of Superstar’s soundtrack. Here are two cool covers I’ve found:
Press Factory Act 1 by VirtuousAezon

Golden Capital Act 1 by NicoCW

I felt this topic was worthy of its own thread as people have posted remixes in the Superstars thread but they’ve been buried by posts discussing other aspects of the game’s. So folks feel free to share away :)

Great idea for a thread. Does self-promo count?

Not a remix specifically, but man I wish Sonic games would have the ability to turn off the Super Sonic music. Or, even better, if Super Sonic worked like Yoshi in Mario World, where each stage got a Super Sonic remix. As is, I cannot stand using super sonic, because it replaces most of the music in the game with a 20 second loop. So aggravating.

Thanks for this. Press Factory Act 1 is unironically one of my favorite tracks in the game, but it does need a good remix. This one is better, but feel there's still room for improvement.

I would normally not post this as it's not in any way a remix of the official OST, but this one was so well made and has been so well received that it already has a mod putting it in game.

And for those who want an easy link to the music mods that have gone public so far (it's still early days, mind you):

making cool music no one gives a shit about
By the time Superstars goes on sale and I actually pick it up, the soundtrack will be all fixed up, no thanks to SEGA lol

I'm glad I'm not the only reminded of Socket by some of the songs in the game!

There are so many talented folks remixing superstars’ soundtrack, including retro members! This weekend I’m going to listen to all these remixes :)

It seems Sega themselves are jumping on the Superstars Remix Wagon as the sonic social media account has posted the Crush40 + orchestra rearrangement of Superstars title theme from the Symphony tour:

There's a mod that's replacing songs with remixes, and I was particularly impressed with this track:

I'm a fan of the instrumentation of this version of Press Factory 1, other than the intro, but for some reason it changes a couple notes in the middle to sound less impactful? It almost sweeps every other remix by a mile, but sadly VirtuousAezon's is still the best for remaining pretty faithful to the composition itself.

i was wondering in the middle of the early morning night about, if there are any versions of Sonic Mania or now Superstars which would somehow turn the background layers into the equivalent of a music visualizer. which could be for the actual backing track or for, a different track that is synergized into the background visuals, which might actually arrive very slowly, if it were more mysteriously retro. they could also change quickly!!

@Violet CLM showed me the Jazz (jackrabbit) Creation Station current version recently , which is a very early high resolution creative zone designer for Jazz 2, from 1998, and now Sonic Studio is becoming this version of that for Sonic. : ) : )

The idea is that in Jazz 2 the backgrounds were often this interesting parallax scrolling effect which has rarely been since seen (scene)!!

So with 2023 and future years' software it would be possible to have magical reshaping visual background layers which begin to match the music or otherwise could just change in creative ways (randomized clouds and scenery and creatures,
maybe could be added into any of these current games as mods, and if you could interact with them!! (Similar to how in Pokemon GSC different rare characters would only appear occasionally. as with Sonic 3d Blast it would be possible for these different characters to bring you to different zones or areas or share a rare item!!)

TLDR is , so someday in the future some of these games could have visuals remixed by music and new software adjustments, in the background or foreground!! Could the size and shape of the character models flow with new music somehow?? otherwise a series of simple visual effects around them!! Jazz 2 in 1998 had flickering lights which i think could blend with the music's BPM.
