Yeah those dodgy shots right at the end do give me X vibes.

 

Also Knuckles punching around the middle part (around 0:33) looks almost exactly like one of his common punching shots in X, it's insane I hadn't noticed that before.

 

I think people are talking a lot about the name-changing scene because it was written kind of awkwardly in the comic. I consider myself in the "Pro Ian Flynn" camp, but that bit of dialogue seemed a bit clunky to me. That being said, I feel like Flynn's writing style has become very... direct over the past few years. Characters clearly stating things while not leaving much between the lines. When you listen to Bumblekast, however, he seems to get a lot of inane questions about specific little minutia because some folks seem to not be too great at interpreting what isn't being explicitly stated. I think he might be catering harder to that audience.

Okay. No one asked, but I'm gonna try to rewrite that dialogue. Maybe something like this?

Eggman: "That's why I've hired you to find out. I need someone to hunt down any beasts, treasures, or people that will help me conquer the world. So hop to it... ehrm... Nack? Jet? What're you going by now?"

Fang: "Fang the Hunter... something about seeing your name on a Wanted poster makes you want to change it."

Eggman: "Whatever. I'm paying you to hunt, not talk!"

IDK, I'm not a writer myself. This just seems to address the "Multiple Names" issue quickly without drawing as much attention to it. It would also probably cover half as many panels. It also doesn't have Fang say "Yup! I'm a criminal! That's why I change my name!"

Speaking of panels: Even Stanley's lines with DeeGeeMin's colors is awesome.

 

So there’s still hope for Man of the Year Part 2 and AOSTH Season 2 :p

 

I’m going to have to disagree with this take. Reading the comic made me squee with joy (and I’ve never played Sonic [strike]& Tails 2[/strike]Triple Trouble.

It brought all the pieces together while moving forward.

 

I've been hearing outcry from some areas about giving the Classic Sonic Cast Voice Actors again, but I have to wonder if there's anyone who could voice Classic Sonic outside of Japan without everyone losing their shit.

It's easy to say "Jun'ichi Kanemaru can voice Classic Sonic", yeah that would end well sure, but Hell would have no wrath like, "Roger Craig Smith as Classic Sonic".

So here's a challenge to anyone interested; Can anyone name a current American (Californian - Studiopolis Casting Area) that does work for Video Games, that would be a good fit for Classic Sonic?

Honestly I’d be 100% fine with RCS doing it for consistency (though I don’t know of any younger parts he’s played), but Martin Burke would also be great.

I'm only used to the Japanese V.A. of Classic Sonic in OVA and I didn't liked the English one.

 

I realize that neither of these are voice actors, but there are two Youtubers that I have noticed would make for an excellent Classic Sonic voice. Both "Tails' Channel" and also "The Sonic Show". They have the right level of "nasal" and expression. They both sound a bit "smarmy" or bratty. They sound like teenagers, not full-grown men, like Roger did. They are sort of similar to Ben Schwartz, who I also think is perfect.

 

Ben Schwartz is the closest to Martin Burke's energy. I'd go with him since I loved Martin in Sonic OVA and I liked Ben in the movies. Just needs to raise his pitch a little like Dewey in Ducktales.

 

He could voice classic Sonic

 

Classic Sonic should be voiced by Masato Nishimura

 

Classic Sonic should be voiced by whoever voiced Gordon Freeman, he's got a good range.

 

Classic Sonic should speak in garbled Genesis synth sounds
