Sonic Superstars: A New 2D Sonic Game (Fall 2023)

Sadly it apparently was a one day thing. I'm really happy I got in straight away but how stupid.
I'm going to be paying attention to their program to try and get points for my friend so I'll post here if I see anything

 

I’d even be willing to pay a couple bucks for some of these skins. Sega is leaving money on the table here.

I was able to sequence Miniboss theme into a MIDI, so before we get the game this is the cleanest way of listening to it haha.

Dammit the closest Kroger's from me is like 40 minutes away. WTF is up with Sega and this game's DLC?! It's so stupid!

I'm catching up on the thread. There's Kroger DLC? Anyone have a list of all the different DLCs and where to get them? Do they work on Steam or is this like Amy's red dress where we just can't get it for some reason?

 

Apparently, if you attend Tokyo Game Show 2023 and play Sonic Superstars you'll a get a guide book that will contain an exclusive 16 page Gag Manga related to the game.

Until I moved to the Midwest a few years ago, I'd have been asking the same question.

 

Oh man, I always thought they were mostly in the southeast and peppered up the east coast, which is one of the reasons I thought it was just so stupid of a collab. I figured at least half the country wouldn't be able to participate, but I guess they've spread their reach out a bit in recent years.

 

Potentially even more than you might think. They also tend to buy local grocery chains and keep the name. Here in Colorado they're under the King Soopers brand, in California they're under Ralph's, for example. So more opportunity for fans, assuming there isn't some stupid clause where the store has to literally be called "Kroger".

 

I believe they're Fred Meyer here in Oregon.

Either way I'm not gonna be able to get these legitimately, since like the Amy outfit, Steam has apparently been cut out of all these.

 

In Wisconsin they operate under Metro Market and Pick n' Save. I remember because my mom, a manager at Pick n' Save at the time, has complained incessantly about how the acquisition by Kroger made her job worse in a million different ways.

It would be really nice if these were, you know, unlockable in-game instead of being tied to an obscure rewards program not everyone may even have access to. I did it because I shop there anyway, but yeesh not doing anything for your goodwill SEGA.

@Shaddy the guy brings up a good point, why are these still not available for Steam? We're only about a month away from release. Will they just not be available at all?

 

We had this with the Soap shoes in Frontiers initially too, no? I'm honestly wondering if there's something about Steam that makes it difficult or undesirable to have this kind of pre-order DLC available there, or at least in the same timeframe as other platforms.

 

This is true. My old Ralph's card would even work at a Kroger I'd shop at.

 

That doesn't make sense. The LEGO Egg-Man skin is a Pre-Order bonus and there are no issues there.

Every other publisher have done pre-order bonuses without issue. This seems like a SEGA, and from as far as I can tell, specifically a Sonic issue.
