Holy shit I was not expecting anything like this. This feels like Sonic Mania 2 essentially, but I guess it's a Sonic Team game?

 

Sega, I take back every terrible thing I've said about you over the years. This is what I fucking wanted. Thank you.

 

Website is not up yet it seems. I recall the same thing happened when Sonic Origins was officially revealed.

Sonic went off a ramp and the arc looked correct. But maybe I could be wrong.

 

It looks much more like a mania type game than a sonic 4 so I am very, very excited. Gives me mega man 11 vibes?

 

This looks great. A lot of cues taken from New Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Land 3D as far as I can see.

 

This was totally unexpected!! I am intrigued and interested but I want to see who is developing. From the looks of it, I didn’t see any trademark bottomless pits from DIMPS yet so perhaps it’s an internal thing from Sonic Team?

And my guess is this will be heading towards a November release.

 

Did they leave the beta title on the site when it went live? lol

 

If this has a good feel for 2D sonic- it doesn't even have to be as precise as mania- I am fucking stoked

Yeah this actually looks a lot like their decade+ late answer to NSMB. It looks kinda weird, but I just hope it plays right. Is this the "classic Sonic game in-house at Sega" that's been rumored for the past couple years?

Ah shit. Well, hope we get more gameplay soon. The aesthetic at least looks a lot better than Sonic 4.
