I find these old releases to be stupid when they've already been available in some form before. They would be better having Sonic the Hedgehog 4 on Steam rather than Spinball.

It is money for little effort that they can use elsewhere. Why do people have such a hard time grasping why Sega is doing this? If there's demand for something they can shove out for next to no cost, of COURSE they'll do it! I would.

  5. Sonic 4 on PC would be an instant buy for me. Just think of the possibilities...

Great, now you've got me wishing for something that probably won't happen for a few years if it ever does.

Not trying to hijack this thread but it seems kinda related. Hasn't anyone considered trying to do a hack of Soinc Spinball with the main series physics? I've always felt that Spinball's physics let the game down.

    Related food for thought.

With all the re-releases going on these days, I'm a little surprised Sega isn't cracking down on the emulation fronts as much as I would expect. Surely that's cutting into what money they could make from these ports.

If they were 99 cents, I'm sure they wouldn't care. But even five bucks a sale is nothing to sniff at, and the iPhone editions run $6.

A hack of Sonic Spinball running at the same speed as the regular games would be hard as shit, though.

It would be interesting to see how a pinball level would work out in a Sonic 2 hack. The code is there from the Casino Night flippers, or someone already made a hack like this years ago. Either way, it sounds interesting.

  10. Or they assume that many fans will be hit by nostalgia and buy the game strictly on that impulse without a second thought.

Yeah, there are many other ways to get this game for much cheaper.

EDIT: Also new template for the occasion

I don't know about Sega, but shortly after E3 there was a pretty big ESA crackdown regarding ROM sites.

What about give us XBLA (since SEGA seems to like it that way) versions of these games SEGA!?

...I'd buy 3D Blast if it was on XBLA.

I'd only buy 3D Blast if it was the Saturn version, which it almost certainly wouldn't be. So no

Because SEGA doesn't know how. :v:

Though it would be neat if SEGA used the PC version of 3D blast since it and the Saturn shared the same music.

Spinball was good but I wouldn't say it's the best ever.
