Well, I'll still say that this game requires more skill than Mario Kart, but if you're in first, all attacks are going to be aimed right at you.

Perhaps you should play Rollcage. That requires a hell of a lot of skill in the later leagues, but that doesn't stop one attack from completely fucking you up.

 

The PC version of this doesn't have online by the way nor does it have a demo but there selling it for preorder at £12.99 on HMV.

 

Well, this is beautiful. Pre-ordered the 360 version and my 360 just got the Red Ring tonight. Damn you, Microsoft. DAMN YOU. IT'S A CONSPIRACY.

Sonic Stadium has links to all the drivers' stats and what not for the 360 version.

Also, Amigo's isn't called the Maracar, as they had also said, but the Samba De Party. Which feels a little awkward. Why not Samba De Fiesta?

 

Samba De Party is the name of Amigo's all-star move. His car is called the Sun Buggy

 

My bad. Even so, it's not the Maracar, and Samba De Party still sounds like a Tex Mex place around the corner.

 

Whatever, I was just pointing out the difference between that video interview from forever ago and the screens. The name's of the cars are really the least of my concerns right now.

I've got my time down to 3'09"038, after restarting several times due to the computer's bullshit (can't wait to play a real Time Trial on this course). Any tips to get it down any more? Are there any small technical things I haven't figured out yet?

 

Well, we know that Amy's car was originally called Pink Rascal and Lost Palace used to be Forgotten Falls. S0L said that they had to change a lot of the names for localisation purposes.

Shit? He has the best handling and amazing acceleration.

 

Could be an alternate vehicle. Doesn't look like an ATV to me.

 

Bugger all in the speed departments. Ah well, I'll have to see how he plays. Dry Bones and the other slow characters tent to be my main choices in MK anyway, so =P. Plus he does have a brilliant ASM.

EDIT: @ Lobotomy, there are no alternative vehicles. Except Ryo, and even then it's a special pre-order bonus DLC that not everyone has access to.

 

Round the first corner, you can drift through the water if you're boosting, as long as you don't cross the faint white water line there (as that will reset your car). Keep drifting, even on the straights, and don't crash. That's all the advice I can give.

EDIT: Oh, and start accelerating on '2' for a turbo boost. You probably already know most of these, though.

 

I got a much better start once for holding acceleration sometime before even the 3 appeared, but I've never been able to repeat it.

I'm may be wrong but.. is the DS version the unique that has Ryo Hazuki in by default? o.o

 

Ryo Hazuki is in ASR by default regardless of version. The pre-order bonus stuff was strictly for the ability to make Ryo drive his forklift all the time instead of the motorcycle.

 

Haha, do I still have that reputation? I've moved on a tad since the Manga-Gaga days. :P

 

Just BestBuy.com'd it for in-store pickup (got a gift card, and the store is just around the corner from my apt.). I wish I didn't have to work 10-6 on Wednesday.
