Oh, baw. 98% of the entire consumer market doesn't even know or care that Flag Man is an established character. NiGHTS on the other hand is a far more colorful and recognizable SEGA character to use.

And it's not like he was going to be in anyway, my bets are the flagman was originally going to be Omochao.

This. OutRun is far superior, especially with a moonwalking Flag Man. They've clearly put a lot of the OutRun experience into ASR too, so he'd be the perfect fit.

 

I'm rather amazed that NiGHTS isn't just a racer in this game. The Flag Man certainly makes more sense considering the direction the rest of the cast is taking. But I'm much more disappointed in the lack of Segata Sanshiro, so this is something I think I can live with.

 

That's actually... surprisingly high for what I was expecting.

I predict he'll be DLC, along with NTSC Forklift Ryo.

SEGA loves money, and throwing out an extra character for $5 is a good way to get money.

Reviews look very good, actually. Might try to get the PS3 version at some point.

 

Am I the only one who thinks the car Jackie & Akira drive looks like it was based on Outrun?

 

Sure of it, but I would have preferred the Hornet.

 

Preview with about 50% less annoying marketing ideas, mission mode, and DLC confirmation?!

 

Yeah, they should've just called it Heart Attack Mode and got on with it.

 

I'm hoping that the DLC is free. If not, the game better feel complete without it.

I really like this preview. I'm going to send it to a lot of people.

 

I love how the camera doesn't change sonic-adventure style when sonic's car goes up the loop in 0:24. I wish 3D sonic games did the same.

Also, I hope that the guy means "better AI" = less rubber-banding. I also don't see any sign of a blue shell clone, yay!

 

I can't lie, this game looks slick, and I never even like racers all that much.

It still kills me how these racing games always contain exactly the sort of levels I'd like to see in a proper 3D Sonic game, from the visuals to the corkscrews and everything. It seems so easy for Sega to pull off, but they can never be bothered to put the effort in. Sonic really is just a sideshow act and a pretty face for Sega now.

 

I believe it was confirmed a while back that there's actually an option to turn off rubber-banding altogether.

 

Hahaha, Heart Attack! Alright, this game is looking great so far, especially for a Mario Kart clone. Think I might actually buy it instead of just downloading the Wii version.

 

I'm so buying this game. I'm pretty pumped up for it. And it appears to only be 49.99, which is a nice touch. I could see Toys R Us doing a gift card deal for this.
