Sonic Rumble, a "Fall Guys" inspired game coming this winter

The game is good, actually. It's still a mobile gacha game at heart, but the core mechanics feel perfect for mobile. Soundtrack slaps. Wish I could run it at 120hz but I can live without that.

 

I've seen some footage (oops) and it looks quite alright! Way better opinion then after that leaked gameplay. Looks a bit slow but I'm sure when you're playing it, it feels faster. Nice selection of characters too, looking forward to trying it myself.

• Amazing presentation. These outsourced projects have better cohesion than any of Sonic Team's efforts.
• Art style is very cute. Everyone just fits.
• Music is phenomenal. They knocked it out of the park.
• Nice fan service with the various cosmetics.
• Controls are solid in 3D stages.
• Cool Single Player mode to practice stages.
• Also has harder variations of maps.
• Easy to understand currency system*

Hate

• Ring Challenge objective can lead to a snowball where 1st place cannot lose, especially if you get maps like Starlight Carnival Finale. Guaranteed win. It isn't like Fall Guys where everyone is in an even playing field throughout the entire set.
• Map Variety is lacking. Hoping it's increased significantly by launch. I've seen Seaside Hill Survival way too many times.
• Finales feel way too short compared to 1st and 2nd rounds.
• Controls are stiff in the 2D stage.
• While controls and movement are functional, they're nothing special. Just your basic platformer. The game makes a point that going down hills makes you run faster, but a majority of the maps rarely make use of this design.
• *Currency will obviously be cancerous on release.

I liked it, but not sure if I'll make it a daily grind if the Ring Challenge system stays.

 

Really enjoyed the open beta this weekend. The variety of levels and amount of customizable content blew me away.

It's a very fun and polished experience I could see myself playing this for a good ten to twenty minutes each day when it comes out officially.

Unlike Team Sonic Racing, I sure hope SEGA'll keep this game alive with updates.

 

Seen a bit of gameplay for this now, and honestly hope it comes to Switch or Steam. Looks much smoother than the initial trailers suggested and frankly one of the more polished Sonic games in recent memory. Also, god, the soundtrack is gorgeous. They clearly didn't want to give Nakamura his royalties, but the Forces Chemical Plant remix is a pleasant surprise and the fiddle-centric Sky Sanctuary track is superb. It's giving Mario Kart 8 in the best possible way.

 

Anyone still care about this game? Nah?
Anyways, it's soft launching in Peru and Columbia.

There's no key of what words you're supposed to be looking for.
And also the words have nothing to do with the game, the words in here are like September, Norway, torn, twelve, and bread.
Really fucking weird way to market your game.

Holy shit 5D marketing so far ahead of me that I thought it was just dumb baby shit. GGs I suppose.

 

One of the comppsers is Hidekuni Horita (Green Hill). He did Ocean Palace on TSR. All his stuff is amazing. They should get him to do some work on the mainline games.

 

Game's full launching on mobile and PC this winter. Huzzah.

Wowza, this just went from I won't play it at all to I might play it although likely while inebriated and then uninstall it in the morning.

 

Well, it's still not my kind of game, but being able to use a controller on my actual monitor instead of my phone (I dunno how the hell to get the mobile game to recognize my controller) means I'll probably play it until I've seen everything I want to. The live service crap will definitely be crap, but in all likelihood I'm more likely to be able to squeeze out a few rounds of this with my friends than any other Sonic multiplayer

 

I wish they'd specify which PC platform. Hopefully it'll be Steam and the game has a chance at gaining traction, maybe a little less if they try to use Epic Online Services again (though I have learned that EOS seemingly amounts to a click and a birthday entry, which isn't the worst thing).
