I’m in. Unfortunately the test server doesn’t start until 5PM PDT tomorrow and at that time I’m going out of town for a road trip. Hopefully the test server is still up on Monday or Tuesday
I did as well, although in my case I can only make like, two of the sessions because of my work schedule Heres the official test times for when it will be live. 1st play session: May 24, 2024 (Fri) 5:00 to 8:00 PM (PDT) 2nd play session: May 25, 2024 (Sat) 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (PDT) 3rd play session: May 25, 2024 (Sat) 5:00 to 8:00 PM (PDT) 4th play session: May 26, 2024 (Sun) 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM (PDT) 5th play session: May 26, 2024 (Sun) 5:00 to 8:00 PM (PDT) Quick edit but there is also a restriction on recording or posting images or footage from the beta so don't expect a ton of footage to come out, im sure some will regardless. If I had a WAY to record reliably on mobile I would consider it for the future but oh well
Is the restriction on an OS level or just them asking, "Don't do this?" This is my first time doing something on TestFlight.
I believe its just them asking people not to but there could be OS restrictions built in as well, hard to say without having it on hand but i cant find anything stating one way or the other
I got a email! Since it's the weekend, the times won't bother me. I have a iPhone XR though, I know they recommend up to iPhone 11 at best but meh. Glad I checked my email just now otherwise I wouldn't have noticed I got selected.
I got an email confirmation for the beta test myself. Hopefully, the game will be good as I will record footage for the beta test. I will be very disappointed if the game lags on an iPhone 13 Pro because it shouldn't. I guess I'll find out in the next few days.
Reminder that if you're in the test you're not allowed to post footage or screenshots online from it, even after the game releases publicly. Be sure to double check all the terms you can find.
Edit: The image wont load so heres just a link to a tweet with said image https://x.com/sonicstadium/status/1793651822894412250
It's also important to note some of the later paragraphs: Basically, just don't talk about the game. Edit: nevermind
Okay, I'm not actually planning on sharing anything publicly myself. Was probably just going to send screen recordings to my brother to show him how it looked and show off any fat dubs
I've been the playing the game for a while. I enjoy it, but's not very "Sonic". It feels more like a generic platform racer with homing attacks and automated loops added to it. I feel that simply adding momentum to the game would make it less generic and more in line with other Sonic games. I also feel that pressing the homing attack button should make you jump dash when there's not an enemy or object nearby. The music is incredible. Love that sax.
I had forgotten exactly how shitass virtual thumbsticks on a phone really are. Let me use my controller, damn it! It's got four settings for a reason! Anyway the game is...fine. I don't know if momentum is what would save it, because it feels hopelessly generic. I'm not the target audience, but I guess I'm happy the kids will have fun with a perfectly nice Fall Guys ripoff? Other than the music for Plastic Hill Zone. Trailers and such are one thing, but hearing that over-the-top orchestration on a loop while you're trying to stumble around platforming gets old real fast. I can't believe this is the one that gets to be multiplatform and not Dream Team.
When I said that I was recording screen footage, I was trying to say that I was doing it because I did a Google Forms survey sent from the game's Discord server, and I applied to record footage for feedback and technical reasons. But I guess showing game clips and footage now isn't a problem. If I get the chance, I'll try playing Sonic Rumble tomorrow to get a glimpse of it. Seeing as many people are saying it just feels like a generic racing/party platformer, I have to judge for myself.
This game is sick. Didn't have any performance issues. Riders Amy mentioned. I didn't manage to cap everything.
Controllers do work btw but I have no idea which button does the attacks... Edit: nevermind, it's right trigger, thanks Jubbalub. I didnt the chance to play it more than a couple times myself but I thought it was, decent. No framerate issues which was my only huge concern tbh. With a bit more variety I think this could be really fun
I've heard it's Mitsuharu Fukuyama and Hidekuni Horita are working on the OST. Hidekuni Horita have been worked on Team Sonic Racing and Mario & Sonic games soundtrack.
The game is super fun! The soundtrack is amazing as well. For those not aware, there is controller support. I didn't know about it last night, so during my first beta session I used only touch controls. It works on my iPhone XR, but of course it lags most of the time. It's playable at least! I finally managed to come in first place today, but man the Green Hill Survival game is difficult. Especially the hard challenge mode.
