Wal*Mart has Sonic Rivals available for pre-order for $19.82. They typically honor all pricing errors, and from the looks of it, it won't be long before they fix it.

$39.99 at Gamestop, Best Buy, and Amazon.

I'm gonna spread this as far as I can. I don't want Rivals, personally, but I'm sure some others do, and this is a great opportunity for those people. :(

How does this rip off Sega? Wal*Mart has to pay just as much as everyone else to stock it. If anything, it's ripping off Wal*Mart - Sega doesn't make any less money for them selling it at $19.82. Sega stocks everything with the assumption that retailers will abide by the MSRP.

And why would we tell Wal*Mart about it? They have the legal right to deny us of the misprinted price if they want. It's completely up to them in the end, but they usually honor their typos.

I think when they see a influx of reserves and see this stuff posted on the internet that they won't honor their typo.

Umm... Sega isn't getting hit here. Wal-mart's already bought the games.

rather that than posting for a shitty site which posts entirely unacurate news.

Anyway, only saz is allowed to say that.

How could they not honor it? If you already payed what they advertise it as, with a credit card, then they can't exactly charge again without getting permission from you.

The very worst that can happen is that they will have to refund your money.

I don't see them being willing to get sucker punched out of thousands of dollars.

It could be an intentional mistake so the game will have good sales...

    XD you wigger

Sega lose money through royalties. With games (like books), you don't sell stock to stores directly, you make money from royalties on what they sell.

Not in the US. Wal*Mart's earnings are based on the markup they place on the product - usually as high as the MSRP, as Gamestop, EB, and Best Buy do. They can sell it for more or less, but if they sell it for less than it cost them to stock the product, they lose money. Regardless of what they selling price they choose, they still have to pay Sega as much as every other retailer. If Sega lost money from pricing like this, then they wouldn't allow Wal*Mart to stock their products. Some retailers (especially Circuit City) periodically do this intentionally to get more customers in their stores.

But apparently none of this is important anymore because the deal is dead. To my knowledge, Wal*Mart hasn't notified the people who bought it of the pricing change, so they might get it after all. Anyways, trash plz.
