Granted the level designs aren't finished, I suggest you lower some of those spinners. They're so high up it can be hard not to get hit by their blades, which is really annoying when they come after a checkpoint but before rings.

For those who can't be bothered to download songs, or who have cosigned to playing without music, here I come to save the day with a song pack. It also includes a completed save file, for the convenience of those who don't have SADX beat already.

    Enjoy!

Alright, I'm playing right now, I'm at Egg Hornet, but there's somethings I noticed.

The biggest problems I've encountered so far, are the springs, and loops. The springs I think you know of already. If you hold the joystick on your controller, the springs will mess up, and you'll either fly through them, and possibly fall off the stage, or sometimes when you land, you fall through the floor. I had this happen to me in the first level. I know it's as simple as not touching the joystick, but sometimes it's easy to forget.

With the loops, sometimes it's kinda the same problem, where you'll fly through them, or fly off them, and when you go to land, fall through the landing area.

I'll see if there's anything else as I play through. Though something else I noticed just now, is that the Egg Hornet, music..? (sound effects?) are kinda messed up. I just keep hearing a repeating sound effect, I think. Is it just me?

Oh also; since I'm dumb at these things; how do I add my own music for the stages without? I love the music you've added, but I want some for the other parts as well.

download that pack LoS posted earlier, and copy all the wma files into the /sounddata/bgm/wma/ folder, don't overwrite if you want the old tracks to stay. And yes, I think I forgot some sound effect files. Again, I didn't want the download to be massive and sounds were my last priority.

Other than moving the Sonic OVA song to the second part of Caribbean Crush, all I did was add songs to the modified levels, as well as Station Square and Mystic Ruins. I just left the other songs you had there.

  8. The "not holding directions while on a spring" thing was from SA1 as well. The "keep holding jump after homing attacking a long spring to go higher" wasn't, but I caught on pretty quickly.

Three and a half real issues:

    1) Because the Light Shoes were in (a perfectly avoidable part of) IceCap, I thought I was stuck before Red Mountain. It's an interesting idea to move it, but perhaps changing the Hint Ball outside of the entrance of Red Mountain to go search in IceCap would make it easier.

    2) Speaking of IceCap, is the middle speeder after the first checkpoint backward? The two next to it are going forward, but into walls. But that direction doesn't seem to be an exit, either. I couldn't really spindash/homing attack/light dash my way across it consistently.

    3) The two speed up shoes before the corkscrew in Speed Highway (or just spindashing before leaving the ramp) lets me get to the rocket above the "stadium" immediately after, which takes me to what is supposed to be Goin' Down, but instead takes me to At Dawn with Goin' Down elements (music, textures, some gravity changes shortly after spawning). I suggest redirecting the rocket.

3.5) Is there a way to make it so Tails doesn't come in to stages with Sonic? I know you can set a trainer on it, but it'd be nice not having him destroy precious homing attack targets before I can use them.

Other than that, it's looking pretty good. Maybe not as intuitive as SA1, but it doesn't really have to be, and I enjoy the added challenge in some areas. I especially like IceCap's variety of branching paths, something that I feel the Adventure games sorely missed out on. Keep it up!

    1) oh shit good point, I should fix that. Thanks.

    2) That area is supposed to be a bit of a puzzle. If you go just past the dash panels and look to the left, there's a way across the gap for those who can't spinjump that well.

    3) also, completely intentional. So far each level (with the exception of ice cap, as it is only haflway completed) has more than one exit. Consider the midnight at dawn a secret exit.

3.) I've been thinking of adding that to the options menu when I have the ability. I agree completely the little bastard is annoying

Thanks for playing and thank you even more for the helpful feedback. I'm glad you like it.

Oh, so At Dawn is able to be entered? I need to update the music pack then.

Are any other parts of Ice Cap, Speed Highway and Red Mountain able to be entered?

Caribbean Crush, Speed Highway, and Red Mountain all have secret exits, however only SH and RM have them in alternate sections.

I did find the one in Caribbean Crush, but I did not know there was another one other than "At Dawn" in Speed Highway, very nice touch. Also, will there be a playable Super Sonic implemented (as Endri did already make this possible)?
    Sorry if already addressed.

By the way, this is truly amazing work so far, and you doing a great job so far.

I updated the song pack with more songs for the other parts of Speed Highway and Red Mountain/Vicious Volcano. Here you go!

Hey Dude, will Speed Highway and Vicious Volcano be getting texture hacks at some point down the line?

Playing this for the first time, this is awesome! It's also the first time I've played SADX with a keyboard.

    Beats me.
While playing this I did encounter some glitches, I'd take pictures but I can't get my computer to play this windowed even though I set it to play windowed... it'd just be easier to get pictures because for whatever reason, if I want to go to another program Windows 7 will close SADX. I don't ever remember the original game playing full screen no matter what... but it is a bit of a nuisance.

There's a part in the beach level where springs will always cause you to die, Sonic can't access Casinopolis because the spring hits him just a few centimeters off from actually hitting the button. Certain areas in the beach level just don't like Sonic as he will just randomly go through something or die, again I'd have pictures but I could only get one then have to start the entire game up again, and again...

Maybe I should apply the hack to my actual copy of SADX for PC, but this is what I experienced from the full version that's already hacked.

The springs don't always kill sonic. While I've tried to fool proof the springs as much as possible, but I don't understand all of the parameters for the springs 100%. If you give the game any controller input during a spring sequence it can throw you off. As for tails, why not just fly up and hit the button? Also, how did you set the game to windowed mode? It should have worked every time.

Also, btw, I just found a fix for the spring death thing, I'm uploading a fix now.
