Sonic RDX Update

    The other problem with the logo is that there's too much blue in one place. While all the official logos in this style have had blue BGs, Sonic himself wasn't against it. There's a green/black and yellow buffer. Look just above my post to Adamis' sig to see what I mean.

    I very much like this. A cleaner, high-res version of this would be absolutely perfect. But curious, what would it look like with classic sonic shading?

    UV's are still broken lol.

    Already fixed I guess...(there was minor issue with negative uv values (which are signed shorts))

    big update. I now have a 100% working model exporter. I'm now making a completely new ice cap level from scratch.

    screenshot of model exporter output (ignore the garbled uvs on that one strip, those are from softman's exporter. The rest is from mine)

    The major downfall with this is that it uses triangle lists instead of triangle strips, thusly making the file size for a model almost double what it needs to be. However, making this sacrifice garuntees perfect collision (as far as sadx goes anyways) and good uv mapping. I'm so freaking pumped. I'll release a tutorial and the exporter eventually. But for now, I work on RDX for the hacking contest =]

    Not only have I updated my model tools, but Ice Cap is the first level I'm using the exporter on.

    Oh, wow, is Ice Cap going to be like that in RDX? Are you keeping parts from the currently available one in?

    An MD-style Ice Cap would be good and I'm sure this is impressive technically, but IMO it really doesn't look right having all of the ice blue like that.

    MainMemory plans on adding support for importing the output this script makes... it won't get much easier than that. In fact, once he's done with that part of SADXLVL, you'll never need to touch a hex editor again to make levels.

    Of course, technical limitations will only allow for levels within the EXE to be edited in this manner, as moving the models to different addresses will crash if done on any of the DLLs except CHRMODELS.DLL. Levels in DLLs are Station Square, Mystic Ruins, Egg Carrier, The Past and the Mystic Ruins Chao Garden.
