Two things: One, the Hacking Contest 2009 Build is down.
Two: The "SA2 Style Light Speed Dash", did you fix the animation for it yet?

If you ever need my help with something, just ask.

    Fixed the link. Thank you.

I think I fixed the animation for one case, but not all of them. It'll get fixed eventually.

Really? When I did it, I just changed the "Jump Cancel" Action to "Light Speed Dash" and the "Jump Cancel" Animation to "Light Speed Dash Flight". It works perfectly.
I also noticed that your Light Speed Dash shows the Trail Effect even if you don't go anywhere, mine doesn't.

Edit: Just downloaded the Hacking Contest update (I know it's been out for a while), and it seems that the trail effect is not as noticeable as I remember.
Also, I noticed something is different about Amy...

These screens look amazing, sadly I cant watch videos or download the hack because of internet problems, but I'm loving the reddish glow around Caribbean Crush. I have a question though; Are you able to edit Adventure Fields in the same way as normal zones?

The objects and geometry can be changed, but we still don't know much about the event flags.

Is the DC version going to have the same level layouts and edits to moves, like instant light dash? Also, is it possible to import the SADX model into the DC version?

    Videos for Hellfire Commentaries.
I hope to see some more Classic Sonic looking models in this hack.

yes to levels, maybe to moves. Not sure about porting models.

Also, I'm starting to like editing the dreamcast version. The level files are separate making for easier downloading and uploading

IIRC, I think Aquaslash said something about either being able to port models, or it being impossible. I hope it was the former.

I can port them, I know that for a fact. The problem is finding the space in 1st_read.bin to put the model.

Does my eyes deceive me, or do I indeed see enviroment maps around Sonic's 3D model? o_O

You keep saying that, but I have no idea what you mean by it. What does your SADX look like?

    Also, why JPG? :argh:

Best SADX retexturing I ever saw. Seriously.

Yes endiri, you do see sonic's blue texture being spheremapped.

Left: Normal DirectX9 rendered blue low-poly sphere with regular phong shader.
Center: Same as the left one but with specularity level set to maximum.
Right: The same thing but with spherical environment mapping applied with additive blend.

And this is the basic spherical map used:

Basically, one of the functions of the environment maps approaches are to make more realistic lightings in certain low-poly objects.

The drawback is that the spherical maps aways face the camera.

The Gamecube version of Sonic Adventure DX features cubic environment maps around the characters' 3D models. The cubic environment map approach is even better, because them can follow the position of the sun, for example, therefore providing even more pleasant, smooth lighting.
