We don't even know that we just know there's a name and a CG teaser with Shadow, Sonic may not even be in this game
The midori leak from earlier this year suggested there was a racing (and tennis) game being made by SEGA Hardlight AND Sumo Digital, tho'.
That's not how I read it - I thought the wording on that post seemed to suggest Sumo had the racer, and Hardlight had the apparent tennis game, respectively. But maybe they do have both (or it's all wrong, which is what I'm leaning towards right now... though who knows).
SEGA's incompetence reaches new heights when Sega Hardlight is given the Console / PC Title and Sumo Digital is given the Apple Arcade Exclusive Tennis game!!!!!
Could be a fun twist on things if there was a Naka-only bonus level where you had to run from the cops after being found guilty of insider trading
I know I'm late responding to this, but I just wanted to state that the mobile games like Dash and Forces speed battles are their on foot racers.
Didn't see this posted yet. Probably Transformed 2 minus the non-Sonic characters plus Classic Sonic.
Transformed was the only great title from this racing series. The transformation mechanic was unique and fun, and the stages from Sega worlds fun to race on. if this is Transformed 2 but even better, I’m on. Just don’t focus on sonic entirely. Or at least give me satAM Robotnik.
I think we'll never see a proper official ""inter-Sonic" crossover" with X Sonic, Adventures Sonic, or whatever. Even when we had the "opportunity" for Archie Boom Sonic X Archie Sonic with Worlds Unite, they refused in favor of just shoving in Sticks and a few side characters with everyone else just completely missing it.
That wasn't really the point of Worlds Unite to begin with. It'd have been weird to have this big SEGA/Capcom multiverse crossover and then also throw multiple versions of Sonic himself and his friends in there. Moreover, I didn't think that was really what people were wanting from Crossworlds? Most versions of Sonic himself aren't all that different to begin with. Maybe people just want to see all the designs and voice actors together, but at least for me, the thing I want out of a multiverse crossover is to see the original characters from each setting. Frankly, Worlds Unite's biggest mistake with regards to Boom was including Comedy Chimp and Fastidious, two characters who were just...not that entertaining or memorable. Much as some people probably detest him, Dave was basically the sixth main character in some parts of that show, he should have come along (and would have had more to do anyway).
I feel like Jun Senoue (and his Sonic Adventure Music Experience band) won't be directing the soundtrack this time, since he was pretty much busy with Sonic X Shadow Generations OST.
Alright everyone, time for you all to get a bit of insight theorizing as to why the roster of Team Sonic Racing...pretty much sucked ass! Look, we already know this isn't even starving for a roster. This is just what happens when you're actually just bones. No Cream, No Charmy, No Espio, and then on top of that you put in Zavok? Why? I can't answer that Zavok part, but I can tell you why the Roster was lame. Voice Acting. The average Mario Kart character has around...1:30 to 2:00 Minutes of Voice Clips. Typically formed through short sentences or "wahoo" noises. They're usually just context-sensitive anyway. Select, Throw, Win, Lose, Hit, etc. The longest amount of voice clips for one character in the series' history would be King Boo in Mario Kart Tour...and even then, you can imagine this wasn't pushing the budget too hard. --- Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled has the largest roster of any of these games, so how did they do it? Easy, they used a similar system. With the exception of Uka-Uka and Aku-Aku, who act as the narrators of the game. Characters in CTR Nitro Fueled tend to have 1:00 to 1:40 Minutes of Voice Clips. So you can see where this is going? How did Team Sonic Racing do this. --- Team Sonic Racing has every single one of these characters have over 10 Minutes of Dialouge, custom made for this game. Even then saying 10 Minutes is putting it nicely. In fact, Rouge by far as the most amount of minutes of voice work, with at least 15 Minutes of Voice Work - So why didn't they ever update this game with new characters? Because you'd have to get these actors to record new lines for the new team(s), alongside having the new team actors record dialouge for all of the pre-existing 15 Characters - Why was the roster so minimal, because paying for even more Voice Work would've been a hassle for the budget. - Why did the prior All Star Games have bigger rosters? Because they used the Mario Kart method for Voice Work. --- So, yes if whoever making this game decides to cut the fat and focus on using the standard Kart Racer Voice length, we could fairly see a roster with double the cast. And since this is Multiverse, without any question, put Maria in the roster.
Thankfully, Zavok probably won't be playable in the new one, on account of Shadow having turned him into a car.
If voice acting was an actual concern and they want to save budget, they could, you know, not have that much voice acting, and cut the voice-acted lenghty story mode which previous games didn’t even have,it’s that easy. very doubtful of it having an actual effect against the roster.
