    was there anything interesting in spinball? it looks roughtly the same to me apart from the early theme music, I missed the ending of the gameplay.

    A late Sonic Adventure 2 build (May 7) came after the Spinball prototype and is currently being streamed now. Someone mentioned in Discord that it looks like a playtester build.

    Not a whole lot of differences in SA2, which is to be expected given the build date, but still had a fun time watching and being there with the chat.

    Really appreciate any proto you give us! :)

    Is there anything worth noting? I really couldn't see a difference in any of the builds. Have these builds been diff'd ?

    I caught the stream mid-SA2 and haven't rewatched it, but from what I got to see, I remember two differences:
    - Omochao has a different English voice
    - Pyramid Cave: The dead end corridor with a key has a different layout at the end

    Mid-level dialogue, like Eggman's taunts during Crazy Gadget, was also missing. Some other sounds, including jump sounds and the Final Rush hoops, were also different. The person streaming also said light dashing into Shadow wouldn't hurt him. Oh and apparently the streamer couldn't get Big's cameos to appear.

    Rewatching the stream and honestly, it doesn't seem to be a different voice since the inflections are the same as the final game. The only difference I can discern is that filters applied to the voice might not be implemented yet.

    Edit: Actually, I just found the clip you're talking about. It appears in Death Chamber. Sorry about that :shobon:

    SONIC 1 PROTO ALERT!

    Seems like a mid to late build so far. No 7 layer parallax, welcome sign, or weird enemies.

    Rolling ball and victory jump pose present.

    Edit:
    • Different sega startup
    • Ball is glitchy af and has annoying placement
    • Waterfalls seem harder to see through.
    • Different monitors?
    • UFOs in Marble Zone
    • Lots of layout changes - not many in GHZ though
    • Percussion sounds different
    • Funky audio/pitch/crackle glitches
    • BARREL OF DEATH in Marble Zone Act 2 and 3
    • Lava takes longer to chase Sonic and you can run through it to glitch out of the level
    • A certain block can now flow to the right in the lava
    • No special stage ring; a single prototype special stage is accessible in level select
    • Screen lock glitch in Marble Zone Act 3
    • No Marble Zone Boss
    • Spring Yard is Sparkling Zone. Lots of sparkles.
    • GoGo, Goodbye, and GoodLuck signs in Spring Yard
    • Some Japanese text in Spring Yard
    • Spring Yard Acts 2+3 only accessible via level select, quite unfinished
    • Starlight Act 1 seems quite unfinished and full of bottomless pits
    • There is a gimmick where you spring into stairs to get them to come down
    • Ended after Starlight Act 1, but level select is present
    • Labyrinth missing water, clearly unfinished. Can't finish any acts
    • Clock Work (Scrap Brain) in level select
    • CLOCK ORK zone title
    • Clock Work has different (ugly) background, looks too much like platforms
    • Clock Work very unfinished. No gimmicks functional, etc.
    • Splats present and functional in Marble Garden debug
    • Some different music in sound test. Mostly small differences.

    Restored Data:
    • Green Hill at night?
    • BallHog Badnik (pink pig dropping balls)
    • Alternate badniks in Labyrinth(fish + grounder)
    • Glitched floating wall in Green Hill?
    • Special Stage Ring = Warp Ring? Warp sound effect + teleporting Sonic?
    • Sonic sprite test? Saw some unused sprites
    • Unused level layout (speculated to be an old GHZ layout)
    • Debug stats on screen

    The japanese paralax would be missing since that was extra stuff after 1.0, I know some people will forget that the game originally never had that stuff :P

    This is cool, just from ghz 1 I noticed several layout adjustments and placement changes, among other things like the ball and pink enemies.

    This is before the one shown in this video by the way, although there are some similarities. Note the video has the HUD changed to RINGS.
