Sonic Worlds will always have a special place for the Multimedia Fusion crowd i.e. people who are skilled with that application but can't program in code. As the best and most accurate Multimedia Fusion engine it's not going anywhere. Sonic Classic 1 and 2 for example are both built in Fusion as was Sonic Axiom. Both used Sonic Worlds if I recall correctly. So was Freedom Planet if I'm remembering correctly here. This new engine is an exciting prospect but it won't replace Sonic Worlds. Both can co-exist amicably.

So new demo when? Excited to play a new build of this. Maybe something is planned for SAGE?

Nope, Sonic Classic 1 and 2 are developed using an engine that Hez made. Sonic Before and After the Sequel though are two notable examples of using Sonic Worlds though.

Ah right okay. My oversight there. Thanks for the clarification! If that's true then kudos to Hez because the engine in Sonic Classic is amazing and very accurate. It's as good as Sonic Worlds meaning Hez is extremely talented to come up with something that accurate. Impressive.

Two stages, Sunrise Gate Zone and Granite Zone. We were on the fence about including the third stage, but it's going to have special demands the engine isn't quite ready for yet, and we don't want to rush it.

We will, when there's more to talk about and it's more complete. We have not only user friendliness in mind, but ways to improve a lot of issues other editors have; some of which has already been done.

Don't be so quick to assume. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Remember the whole reason we're making Teal is because we were so severely limited by MMF2 and other programs. The aim is to create something that goes above and beyond what programs like MMF2 and Game Maker are capable of, both in ability and interface. The level editor alone is already much more capable than MMF2. Some people are fine with MMF2, but others have been endlessly frustrated and held back by it like we have, and ditched it the moment they were able to.

Yes, as Jass said in the latest update here, we have a demo planned for SAGE which should be in roughly two months if all goes well.

Thanks for responding man! Your game looks awesome. :) Extremely promising and beautiful to look at. Count me in as someone who is super excited for your new demo. Please do bump this thread with an update when it becomes available. Two zones sounds good. I'd love three but two would be awesome too. This along with Hez's Sonic Classic 2 are the most promising fangames in development at the moment. There's also Felik's game (Sonic Megadrive?) that looks really exceptionally good too. I think what I'm trying to say is that fangames as good as yours are few and far between these days making them very precious. So glad full production is happening and development seems to be going well.

Looking forward to your new demo! I'll be on it in a heartbeat when it's released. :)

    Many a game.
FYI it used to be called Sonic Mega Drive, but he changed the name to Sonic Neo Genesis.

After a ton of deliberation, we've agreed to hold off on a demo for this SAGE. This was not an easy decision to make, especially since we announced a demo for it.
Everything is just a little too behind for us, and we're concerned about rushing the demo. We did this for the last demo and had to make various compromises, and we don't want to do the same for this one, as the compromises would be comparably worse.
While Teal is working very well and we have most of the content ready, there's a variety of odds and ends that are challenging and tedious to finish, and we're very busy right now with life and other projects. Testing alone needs a decent amount of time even if we did have everything ready.
We'll be holding off on another demo for a while longer; however, the next demo will have much more than this one would have had, as we'll get to finish everything we wanted and then some. We're sorry about this and it makes us look unreliable, but while Overture is a priority for us, we have other priorities as well. We can make up the difference in the next demo. We're all looking forward to the other projects due for SAGE 2016.

Oh that's a bummer. I was really looking forward to have some healthy competition. I'm sure there will be lots of great fangames this SAGE but I was hoping Overture would be THE fangame to compete against.

Anyway best of luck for you and your project, guys!

    RE: Worlds obsolete talk
No, no it's not. Worlds and TealSonic will coexist. Worlds Delta has a new release planned for SAGE, and a full-on rewrite based on the Genesis disassemblies is planned for whenever Clickteam releases Fusion 3.

Welp, no demo for SAGE? Consider me less hyped for that then. Overture's been the one fangame I've been really looking forward to seeing again.

Man where have you been? That talk has been over for a while, lmao. But it's never too late to make clarification.

    Overture is back!

  20. To me, the most surprising thing about this is the fact that Trees is making fangames again.
