Now that'll be interesting. Will Sonic 1 & CD & 2 & 3 & Knuckles be a more unified experience? Like consistent sprites and HUD across all the games? Because that'd be next level right there. And nice to see Stealth involved. Ngl after that whole Denuvo thing I wasn't sure if Sega would want to work with him again but glad that wasn't the case. Least now I can rest knowing the ports will be quality. Does that mean Sonic 3's multi-player received the very necessary upgrades they originally planned for the iOS port?

Explicit confirmation that, not only is Origins using the Retro engine, it’s using the Mania branch of the engine. The DLC maybe a monkey’s paw, but we can breathe easy knowing the base game will be stellar.

Ooh now that is interesting. I'm especially excited to see what they did with CD now. Out of the other Retro engine Sonic titles this one feels the most dated and inaccurate. I feel like this pretty much confirms Knuckles is in CD as well, as we now know theyre all built from the same base. Bring Mighty and Ray back please I'll pay extra...
Love that Headcannon is on board! That actually makes this an instant buy. Really love the animated cutscenes and I'm excited for that whole campaign The official Headcannon twitter states that while they worked on the games implementation, the whole presentation and integration was handled by Sega: https://twitter.com/Head_cannon/status/1516777998719983620

So, in addition to Stealth, we know two of the other people who worked on this are APlusStart (best known for his Son of a Glitch YouTube show) and Mr Poe. These guys were working on a Sonic Chaos remake together. I wonder if they’ll mean anything in the future… Hell, Mania 2 may end up coming from this batch of talent someday…
He got rightfully pissed at Mania being delayed for two weeks to add Denuvo and said the delay had nothing to do with the development team on Twitter. The tweet stayed up all of 10 minutes before being deleted
Yeah thankfully Simon knew the ins and outs of the Retro Engine so even if Christian wasn’t involved, the ports were developed by people who are familiar with the engine so that’s a major plus
Ya I'd definitely be happy with a Mania 2 from that team. Not exactly the same but still very talented. I'm excited for the modding community to get their hands on this lol. We have a whole new Classic Sonic playground now
Excellent news about Headcannon, and confirmation that 1/2/CD are the Taxman/Stealth versions. Glad they got to finish off the classic series and put everything together into one package. Very excited to get my hands on the game! The animated bits look phenomenal and the story mode that ties all the games together with animated cutscenes isn't something I knew I wanted until now. Another reminder to be immensely grateful for Tyson's influence/involvement with the Sonic universe as a whole. Really hoping there is a way to switch out coins for lives in Anniversary mode though. I can't remember the last time I got a Game Over in the original games, but something would just feel off without having lives. If not, it's not the end of the world and it really is just nitpicking/personal preference. Now just need to see what happens with the Sonic 3&K soundtrack...
I think it's safe to say the soundtrack for S3&K is intact or they've would've mention "new soundtrack/music" as a feature for it.
Silence. Just no background tracks at all... there never was music there... if you heard music back in 1994 then that was on you... but we at Sega assure you there never was any music on those stages.
You use the coins to pay the royalties to the original composers, thus being able to use the original soundtrack in-game
