Are there any plans to let players customise a load of stuff other than just FM to CDDA music? I for one would like to have the option to pick the Megadrive jump sound over the Mega CD one because that one seriously does my head in.

So GeckoYamori joined in this project. I'm glad to hear so, dude has made a fantastic work on Streets of Rage Remake.
This new City Outskirts theme should be enough to convince you guys of his talent :)

    For auld lang sine…

No, really! I understand personal preference and all, but I think I could make a biological case for SCD’s sound being much less grating than the other.

I really don't understand why there's such a concerted adversity to the Sonic CD jump noise when literally the only difference is that it uses a sine wave instead of a square, but it's not going anywhere. I suggest you get used to it.

I typically do for Verse's music, yeah. It's not an exclusive position, though; any one of us could do it.

Not asking to get rid of it, just asking for an option to select between the two in options. Everyone's happy then.

Every time someone complains about the Sonic CD jump sound in this topic, a hedgehog dies.

My conscience is clear; I've done my bit for the hedgehog resurrection initiative. :v:

    Fix'd that for you. :v:

That song was amazing though. I'm really curious to see how the new version of the level looks.

Ah...so that's why it sounds so different. Mystery solved! I prefer the Sonic CD jump sound anyway.

It sounded like you had rearranged the parts for it like you had for Starry Night Zone. If not, that's cool, but the instrumentation reminded me a lot of your other works. And a huge shoutout to GeckoYamori for making me drool.

I've heard several of Tweak's compositions in the past, and he is very good at making bright, vivid, joyful sounding music.
Ideal music for lush looking stages in the GHZ category.

Speaking of music, here's another track from the game that Tweaker recently posted from his Twitter account. Sounds great.

Although, I'd like to know where this song is from, if it's not being used for the game. I quite dug it.

The song in question is a remix from the game the FM soundtrack's Act 1 music is from, The Hybrid Front. It's an obscure Japanese tactics game on the Mega Drive with a soundtrack composed by Naofumi Hataya of Sonic CD fame. I don't remember which particular album the remix is from, but the full title is THE HYBRIDFRONT ~SCARAB MIX~.

For future reference, though, I'd appreciate that you try not posting updates for us. I'm not even totally sure that version will be used in-game; that's why I simply kept it in my own topic.

Aha, fair enough. Thanks for the heads-up.

  18. So? It's still something for us to look forward to and discuss. I'm quite liking it, whether or not it'll make the final cut. Stop being a grumpy old man. >=(
