Really? I thought the early versions of sonic 1 megamix, the hex hacks done only by tweaker were the first megamixes

I can't even get MegaMix to run. It Just shows the Sega CD bios screen then jumps to the player.

It does that when I try to reset it, too. Is that on a Sega CD or an emulator?

If it's on the emulator, mine does the same, but selecting 'CD-R' on the player menu starts the game.

If I remember rightly, you need to have the region set to what region of Megamix you downloaded. I remember similar problems arising for me when I was playing Sonic CD ++, and Sonic CD itself.

I downloaded the one from the Wiki, which I assume is the latest version.

For the files on the wiki, the filename is of the form S1MMC.iso, where C is U for US, J for Japan, and E for Europe. Make sure you're running the right one.

If you're running from a burned disk, make sure you burned the ISO with an ISO burner, and didn't just put the ISO file on a CD with Windows Explorer and burn it.

  10. Just wanted to say, since the topic seems active again, Sonic 1 MegaMix V4.0b is awesome, love the special stages and I find the game a great way to pass time on my work lunch break.

    Well, there's ...

    ... uhh... okay.

Back on topic, I completly know the layouts I even could do it in sleep. I remember it playing on my PSP everywhere whether on vacation or in bed.. good 'ol times, but now since I broke my PSP, I got the latest Slim 3000 model and you can't put custom firmware on it. :(

EDIT: wut? How comes I've made the 2nd most replies in this topic? O_o

So I just got a Sega CD so the first thing I did was download and burn this but I am having some issues. It boots up but once it gets to the Sonic Retro logo it locks up. All of my other backup's work perfectly. Anyone know what causes this.(I burned it at 8x)

You know what a cock tease it is to see this topic up top again? Fuck!

Congratulations on your Sega CD though, may it serve you well. I did read in some guide (to burning sega cd isos no less) that you should burn at the second slowest speed available.

Yeah, it might take a couple of goes to get a working disc. I've attempted to burn Megamix 4 times now and was only successful twice (I had to make the second burn because I lost the first one. The second one is now in the same place the rest of my Mega CD games are).

That looks great. Loving the whole psuedo-Stardust Speedway aesthetic, and those spheres that drag you around like that Sonic 3 bonus-stage are a pretty cool addition. And holy shit, a speed counter.

  18. That was AWESOME. :O

The amusement park way in the back and the techno city really give it life.

    Amazing job, Team Megamix!!!

Holy shit that's awesome. Did you guys get the magnetic orb idea from Sonic 3k? Also I love the new art, definitely fits Starry Night Zone better. I always wondered if the level itself was supposed to be based off of Stardust Speedway from Sonic CD, and it looks like I am correct.
