Man that couldn't be anymore funny, nineko xD

Speaking of music, I love the fact not all of them is Sonic. Definitely love the obscure or different choices for music. Still believe that the City Outskirts Boss sounds like something from Sonic 2 GG but it's Alien Soldier right? I'm pretty sure when it came to choosing the music, I'm sure you guys (the whole team) pitched in a hell alot of ideas.

  2. Okay, so I downloaded the file for Sonic megamix and when I extract it the only thing in it is a "read me" file. Am I not suppose to extract it. When I download previous releases it works just fine.

You're not supposed to extract/unpack the iso file. Just play it in an emulator.

  4. Okay, I tried it then it said my bios were not configured. Am I suppose to have the Sega CD bios, 32x, or both?

Seeming as this is a SegaCD game, a SegaCD BIOS seems correct.

  6. Well, I did that to. I'll figure it out eventually, I guess. Thanks though.

I can't wait for the next release! I love Megamix, and if this release let us make our own custom soundtracks like you can do with Sonic CD then Megamix could officially be something to rub in Sega's face :v:

making cool music no one gives a shit about
    Your font is annoying. ><

Also, I think there was a huge drama/debate over the prospect of custom soundtracks. So there probably won't be any support for that, unless someone figures out a way around it.

    Hey there,

Well, I've known about Sonic Megamix since the first level was called Sunset Hill and all the zones, bar the first one, had unchanged layouts. It has being interesting to watch the project mature since I first played it about 2 years ago now ( I think ) into the beast it is now. I have to admit when first got my hands on the most recent version, I was confused on how to play it but I was able to work it out eventually.

I like the way things are going with it and really do hope that you keep to your intentions about keeping details about the final release under wraps as much as possible. It would be a better surprise for everyone that way.

    Here's just a few thoughts based on the current version;

    * No offence but I need to say this, is it really that hard to make a Super Sonic sprite based on Sonic 1's sprite base? The fact that Super Sonic has Sonic 2 animations completely different to the ' Normal ' Sonic sprite just bugs me. Of course, this might be something that is being dealth with but I'd thought I'd put it out.

    * On the topic of sprites, I have nothing but praise for the Shadow sprite, the makeover was badly needed and suits him better than the earlier version.

    * I like what was done with Dark Fortress, the zone it was based on, Marble Zone, wasn't exactly my favourite Sonic level because it was so well.... slow. It feels cut off from the rest of the game. Labyrinth Zone felt more in place as it was later in the game. This level was more fast paced and fun and I like that new boss as well.

    * The music is good, really good. I'd sometimes boot up the game and go into sound test test just to listen to some of the music. I really hope the planned CD quailty music is on par to this soundtrack.

I really have much else to say, only good luck to the whole team on finishing the project and please, take your time. Though I'm sure you already are.

    No.

All of Megamix's new CD based soundtrack has cheezy vocals over it rapped by Charles Hamilton. :v:

Was playing v4 CD on my CDX today. I wound up in a wall after hitting a spring, but didn't get stuck. Other than the rare glitch, it's rather well done.

MegaMix is one of those projects where you always think that the limit has been reached but the team repeatedly proving the contrary by introducing new and awesome things. Forget the new Sonic crap coz this is so much better.

Topic unlocked, for anyone who wishes to continue any pertinent discussion.

In terms of updates, the chance of new music being composed in very recent times is quite high! We may or may not have something to share in that regard, but it's bound to sound quite a treat! ;)

What I love most in your post is the word 'compose'.
Some original stuff would be nice. Get those creative juices flowing!

I must say I like the sound of that (No pun intended). Whatever it is, it'll be great I'm sure.

    Keep it up!

Right! Since there hasn't been any new Megamix-related content posted in a while, here's a nice little blast from the past—an old private build of Megamix that Katelynn managed to dig off her hard drive.

    Link!

This build is dated January 7th, 2007, and I believe it was compiled from the first source code package we compiled for our personal archives. It's certainly nothing new--in fact, it's quite old—but it's a neat look into the development of the game for anyone who's interested. Who knows—there may be some scrapped content in there! ;)

    Enjoy!
