Or simply ask around or google the GST rip. Pretty sure someone long ago made a gamerip, both v3 and v4

    Play Megamix.
Go to Options on the Title Screen.
Press Start with Sound Test highlighted.
Use the arrows to scroll around which track you want, and wait as the name scrolls to the original author and game.
Look up said game on Project 2612.

    There we go.

Of course there will be some differences, mainly in percussion. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that the percussion used drum samples rather than FM voices for pretty much everything, which was not the case for the original versions of tunes from Columns III for example.

None at the moment I'm afraid.

I can rip shit. its really easy just go to the little thing at the top of Kega fusion or Gens (the emulator that noobs use. No offense but its true.) Go to sound and go down to the bottom where its says dump WAV, Dump GYM, (Or in the case of fusion Dump VGM.) Its that easy. \The hot Key shortcut in Kega Fusion for dumping to WAV is Ctrl+W and likewise the hotkey for dumping VGM is CTRL+V go to Megamix 3.0's in game soundtrack and start recording shit. Easy as pie. mmmmm....Pie. I like pie!

You forgot to mention to convert it to .mp3 then. :V
However, lazy guys like me use Kega Fusion too. So there aren't just noobs.
But seriously, Gens drives my computer crazy, so there's nothing I can do, I suppose. :v:

No, no. Gens is the Noob's emulator, not Kega Fusion. Kega Fusion is bad ass. (I'm kind of laughing now be cause of the way I typed it.) Oh actually converting it to .MP3 is optional but yes you can do it if you are wanting to save disk space and such. I convert most of my .WAV Genesis rips to .MP3 to do just that. I also like to enhance them in both Volume levels and adding fade outs to my rips before converting them to increase quality. My rip generally sound good when burned at 4X Burning speed. (Meh, I'm not really able to afford an MP3 Player/iPod just yet.)

Uh... Gens isn't a "noob's emulator"; in fact, it happens to be an extremely solid and helpful program, especially in terms of quick testing, logging, dumping, and the like. Kega Fusion is more accurate, certainly, but it also falls short in other respects.

That said, this is not a topic in which to discuss emulators—it's a topic to discuss Megamix. And, quite frankly, it's doing a very bad job at that. I'm considering locking the topic again until we actually have something pertinent to announce, so if you have something to post, make sure it's both relevant and pertinent. No more bullshit.

Say Tweaker, you've probably had this asked many times and if so, forgive me. But how's it feel to see the project get this far? I mean...have you ever once booted up one of the older versions and thought how far everything has come since the project began? Again, I apologize if it's been asked before.

Ok sorry Tweaker, my fault as I started this whole thing by asking about using old tracks from MegaMix 3.0 for when a newer version comes out.

    My Bad.

  19. I'm still waiting for the version that replaces the soundtrack with Sonic R inspired music, as sung by Team Megamix.
