Is it just me, or do the sprites in these screenshots look somewhat like the ones from the SegaSonic arcade game?

I'm not sure, but I think they might be the same ones, which makes the whole thing lean more towards "fake".

I probably should get back to work on my site someday...
The first screen looks like a sprite from Sonic 3D Blast...but that was made after this and it's hard to tell since that tree thing is in the way.

Dear lord Jeebus. It look like the same thing done in the first screen. I recognized the trees and bushes on the side to be from Chaotix. Maybe this person could just have used a filter on an image. IS THIS THE END?

Double post becuase editing is broken. I filtered the pic from the above link in GIMP. Close, no? This isn't a real screen, I faked it to show it could be faked. :P

    Looking at those pictures more...

I KNOW I recognize the sonic sprite in the first shot, I just can't place it. Also....to me it looks like the walls are from AIZ. (though I'm not at home so I can't compare them right now...)

The other shots of the Factory Zone have such horrid art, I really doubt Sega would produce something so ugly. (well...there WAS Sonic Advance 3 :P)

Uh, does anyone else get a CPZ feel from the first screenshot of the factory zone? 'Cause maybe its just me, but it sort of gives me a feel of recoloured background buildings from CPZ. *shrugs*

The factory screen reminds me of one of the fields in Crackers, personally.

I didn't exactly mean they weren't custom, just saying there may've been some inspiration there from CPZ for the art that was used.

I guess it's weird for me to become a trial member just to say this, but the factory zone buildings look really close to the prototype Spring Yard Zone background. Just had to get that off my chest.

I was reading up on Wikipedia and found this:

"Game designer Chris Coffin was hired by Sega and tasked with creating the separate "boss level" portions of the game that was suggested to use a different viewpoint from the main game."

Geez....looks as if they stole that idea for Sonic Rush's Bosses...no? This may just be a coincidence by a long shout though.

It's probably just a coincidence. There's plenty of games that use a different POV during boss fights—it gives you more room on how you can design your bosses, which can be a very nifty thing.

Hello, well it's my first post out of ten, so I better explain myself well. This "Sonic Mars" was actully wasn't NEVER based off Mars, it was actully a fan game that was going to be developed ages ago on a small but active forum called Sonic Turbine. This was a year and half ago. I came up with a lame story and some shots that looked umm how can we put it, original/old/canned type. Anyway as you spotted "thank you some people did, SEGASONIC and Chaotix sprites were used alot, and the sprites/textures are from Sonic Adventure, just blurred. I made these when I was hospital, where I came up with the story to help publicize the game when it was actully released. Ironiclly, it got canned ages ago XD. Anyway I don't know how the hell this got re-birthed again, considering I only posted it on two forums, Sonic Turbine and Sonic Blast a WHILE back. Sorry to confuse you all, and well done for the people who spotted it was fakes! Hope you arn't all mad at me, I wasn't meaning it too spire into this.
