Incorporate some kind of graphic into the logo design that implies it's for building things, like a wrench or a hammer. Also, I've never really been a fan of feathered images for logo backgrounds...but that's just personal taste.
Get some really good artist to draw a picture of classic Eggman tooling around with Metal Sonic, with a screwdriver in one hand and a Subway sandwich in the other. EDIT: Bonus points for innuendo if Metal Sonic is bent over and Eggman is tooling with his backside.
If only I had illustrator still... Is it worth torrenting Wait, shhh. If I get Illustrator I can do that, but no butt-crack tooling...
How about I do some of my photoshop magic? Add a slight 5 px glow around the text with 75% opacity, get rid of that horrible white border and simply add an opacity mask instead of it fading out into white. Maybe move the text down and have Sonic standing on a letter? Oh and also, get rid of that MS Sans Comic or whatever it's called. It looks kinda, meh, weird with the Sonic font. I'd leave it out completely, but you can put it there in a font like Lucida Grande or Helvetica in smaller print.
Hmm, well if Sonic Team goes from... ...to... Then I think you know what could also be applied here =P
Ok people, I have a couple of ideas for the main Sonic Maker image, that the title can got next to or ontop of. Here they are: The one Solaris Paradox suggested, although that'l take long to draw A jigsaw of Classic Sonic currently being made Or Eggman chasing Sonic, on an unfinished Green Hill level (I think this one is crap, well, I don't want to redraw Green Hill tiles in HD) Tell me what one is best, fast, or suggest another plz, I am ready to start drawing!
Definitely this one, although I think you should do something to make it clear it's for making levels.
Even better: Wait... did no one really post... dang. Oh well. This one shall most likely be the program's loading image. That's right! Still no one... Poor picture.
Have patience. Not all of use can be on during those particular hours. I happen to like it. That extra depth makes it feel more... Sonicy.
Not bad, but needs more aliasing on the letters (at least judging by the screen I'm using right now).
Why not add a checker pattern like the loop de loops have in Green Hill Zone? Sort of like if Sonic was standing on one of them or something.
Hmm, much better than the previous picture but add a bit more space between the two lines of text. Also, somehow the orange gradient doesn't really fit in in my eyes, maybe some simple green hill tile texture would be nice, like some grass at the top and then the checker pattern. Maybe that's just me though.
Well, I downloaded it, and was ready to test it out, when after I tried to open Sonic Maker this appeared: Anyone know why this is happening? :P
I can't... that's automatic. Right, new image! Here are my replies, look at the new image to make sense of them. I kinda did. I did, but I think sonic should just be part of the 'Icon' Ohh, thinking about icons, I think I'll make one... Ok then. Woah, sorry. That won't happen in v3, as it isn't made in VB. Okay, Here is the image: Mmm? =P I gotta move on soon people, its just the loading image, the actual words and the picture will be what you see in different places.
Icon is here: High-res (64px to 32px): Low-res (24px to 16px) is just the Sonic Team icon... (what more can I fit into a 16x16 space?). And if people want the Vista size icon, tell me what it is and I'll see what I can do.
