I second that. Or if not infinite undos, then like 50 or at least 20. Also, I got v2 up and running on my PC -- think maybe you can fix the physics some?
I'm sorry, I must've had something in my ear. Can you please repeat that? *Jaw drops* That's exceedingly awesome. Limitless? Very cool.
Who thinks that for v4 (the next one), I should redesign Sonic Maker with a ribbon interface (like office 2007)? I am of course talking of the top toolbar and tab interface, the rest would be the same (apart from graphical changes to comebsate for the new theme). That's the question people, I need to plan ahead. Wadda ya think?
Nooooooo. The Ribbon is a bloody awful idea that LESS people need to use, not more. It was bad enough in Office, now it's spreading to other apps, including stuff I have to support for a living
The Ribbon is the latest idea for a toolbar, and often a replacement for the menu as well. Google "office ribbon" for images. They are indeed widely hated. Although I rarely read why people hate them. Personally, I don't mind Ribbons that much. I always put them on minimize so save a lot of space. The only thing I can understand all the rage about is the clusterfuck, inconsistent layouts software developers give them. Also that they're always pretty big, using unnecessary large icons and buttons.
As much as I love the ribbon in Office, I don't think you have enough options to fill up a ribbon with. Keep the simple menu and the fancy tile/object selector at the bottom, it seems to work pretty well already.
I'd keep the tile thing at the bottom, but I'm sure that there will be more items over time, and also I'm talking about v4. More stuff then. I love that word. But that can be avoided... All depends on the grouping. Seems to be a 'NO!' response. I merely asked, coz I luv the look of the ribbon.
<question>What's a ribbon interface? I know it just got explained but I still don't get it. (An explanatory image would be nice.)</question>
For the love of god, PLEASE NOT! This was the ONLY reason why Office 2007 is a failure for me. What's the matter with the old styled menus?
And as always Retro goes.. retro. Classy. That said, I would like to see a ribbon interface; shame no one else likes it.
I HATE That interface. one day I'm using the usual toolbar, next thing I know, I have to relearn Micrisoft word.
But it looks sooo shiny! Ok, I won't use it. Or... I'll keep it out of my mind for now. Ah, and this is the current visual state of the menu (excuse rubbish editing):
