    Forgive me for getting tinfoil hat, but considering SEGA are aware of their modding community, I suspect they did this intentionally to enable modders to get the levels back in.

    Of course, on the other hand, I'm very surprised that Nintendo wouldn't sue their ass for even using Nintendo assets on another platform.

    I kinda doubt that. If they're paying attention to us then they probably know we are perfectly adept at porting assets between games... there's no need to include them just for us, we would've been able to port them ourselves anyway. More likely that they just slipped up IMO, or maybe they didn't want to break the objects' functionality given that the assets used by every object is hardcoded.

    Didn't Capcom also leave the files of PlayStation exclusive characters in the PC version of Street Fighter X Tekken? Which included Cole from Infamous and the Japanese PlayStation mascot.

    Question. Does anyone have the font used in the title cards? I think "Fixed Edition" will include a higher res/updated UI

    I could just about go for a mod featuring a new font altogether? The font used for this game is so blocky and waAAAcky that it doesn't even look remotely like a Sonic thing. :v:

    Actually the font seems to be a modified Sonic logo font. The capital letters are all the same but this font includes lower case letters as well.

    Man, it'd be nice to have levels where you can actually get the Black Bomb Wisp so you can complete the really dumb missions that they made for it...

    Also, I've been using the Classic Sonic mod and I've noticed that his eyes don't close when he falls asleep for the NiGHTS DLC stage (since I've had to farm Black Bomb wisps from this stage). Other than that I haven't noticed any other weird issues with it.

    The ice blocks in FF4 count as enemies, apparently. So that'as a good place to start, and considerably less effort that modifying the game.

    But even then, the 1-star Black Bomb's explosion is pretty much too small to destroy 5 ice blocks at once. It'd be nice to at least have an inventory editor for this game so I could have 4-star Black Bombs (which are now impossible for me to get as I've gotten all the mission rewards except for the 5 enemy one).

    Yeah, it's far more likely they did a mass-convert and then didn't bother changing anything more.

    I would say that they didn't want to break anything otherwise why would they put it in the main cpk file instead of another cpk file instead.

    Did you try breaking a single block and standing in the gap so you were surrounded by 5 ice blocks? I used Super Sonic to do it, but there might be other ways.

    They REALLY should have implemented a way to get powerups beyond sparse 1-star hub world drops and the finite number of missions. In fact, if they weren't going to implement ways to get items above 1 star once you've exhausted your mission rewards, they shouldn't have had different item levels at all.

    I still hope it's possible to do an item editor similar to Generations' skill editor, 'cause it'd be nice to mess around with the items as you please.

    Well thats neat and it sounds like it helped greatly by having that editor chunk still their. let us know if can it be used in anyway, that'd be a cool thing to fuck around with if it can get restored.

    Unless you want to figure out the shadow mesh format then no. They dogs what they did in colors and added a shape mesh one because it's less taxing and the other it's because of the gravity. It does have a bit of directional shape to it. But basically they flattened Sonics model. Screws up on custom meshes I've noticed.

    Oh no I don't care about Sonic's shadow, it's the level shadows. They're all blocky and gross looking.

    Pretty sure it is prerendered. No other way than redoing it all I suppose.
    And I read in an earlier page collision for Lost World is different than Generations and requires a custom tool. From looking at Zoney's twitter we can import stage meshes using the old Glvl but we still don't have anything proper to export collision. I want to know because I want to work on a Sonic CD stage. I had an idea for time travel with Generations and it actually might work with Lost World's level layout. For now the best idea would be to use a bunch of rigid bodies for testing?

    Afaik, same thing as Unleashed and Generations: those shadows are pre-rendered. Making them better would involve rendering them again from scratch. Honestly, I haven't had a problem with the shadows. They're definitely not worse than some of Unleashed and Generations' shadows.

    Ah, ok I see. Thanks for the heads up.

    Just another quick question. To those who are familiar with editing textures, what are the recommended settings for loading and saving dds files (I'm using an NVIDIA Plug-in to load these in photoshop cs6 where I'm doing my editing)? What do I do with the backgrounds to ensure that they're transparent in game? I just want to make sure I'm doing it right before I start working on things and screwing things up in the process.
