When? Are you referring to that minor Sonic & Tails cameo in the ending?

Yes... when you get the good ending.

The Archie adaptation interpreted it as the Chaotix rescuing Sonic and Tails from Robotnik. And while that story is a very loose adaptation of the already wildly different US manual storyline, I've always liked that specific detail and wouldn't mind it being canon.

I'm positive that was just a cameo without context. S&T never figure in the plot.

I find this super hard to believe because I can't imagine, like, someone looking at footage or a screenshot of Shadow Gens and a) knowing that Rail Canyon is a Heroes level specifically b) somehow also not knowing enough about Heroes that they don't notice the fact that there's only one character.

And if they were told by someone else, why would that person--an insider to Sonic Team--get the game entirely wrong?

We never know exactly what insiders are seeing. Maybe it wasn't gameplay footage at all, but just the level itself in a WIP state.

Consensus is that a rumor among supposed insiders at Nintendo that they'd be working on a star fox racing game (which, as the world's last f-zero fan, is a very funny idea) was probably some of that starlink battle for atlas stuff. So I'd believe that the claimed rumors of a Sonic Heroes remake were probably just Shadow previews also presented without context.

Which is a shame because there are so many ways to do a Sonic Heroes remake that is interesting. The game design barely scratched the surface of the potential of its mechanics (go figure, given the conditions it was made in)

I'd be inclined to agree, but where does the "Unreal Engine 5" part of the rumor originate from? Unless they were making/testing SxSG Rail Canyon assets in UE5 before putting them into HE2, I think there's still a sliiight chance there's more to this rumor.

Also, Heroes is kind of a perfect candidate for a remake: Not available on modern hardware, a past best seller for the franchise, memorable for a lot of older casuals, new to the kids, not as precious to the core fan base as Adventure 1 & 2, could certainly use better controls and some QoL features...

They already have assets for one of the zones and the final boss!

Honestly, they'd be kinda nuts if they weren't planning to remake Heroes...

Yeah, if they remade Heroes or either Adventure game, I'd be more interested in a bit of a reimagining than a strict 1:1 remake.

I've played the originals to death. "Sonic Heroes but now with Rodger Craig Smith and RTX On" is only so exciting.

Rework some level design, add new levels/routes, further tune the controls, expand the mechanics, tweak the dialog, fix confusing plot points, add some decent QoL changes for Chaotix missions or Knuckles/Rouge treasure hunting... that sorta thing would be great.

So now for some reason SEGA is delisting a whole bunch of emulated titles and Dreamcast ports, including SADX and SA2 (per the European website)... on December 6th...

What in the heck...? Could this mean something? Obviously this affects more than Sonic titles, but even so... the Adventure games were still quite popular on steam, especially SA2. And removing them RIGHT BEFORE Sonic 3 comes out in theaters...!?

If you need these versions (because of the EXTENSIVE mod community), buy them ASAP. The Genesis and Dreamcast bundles are currently very cheap.

I dunno how I can see the European website in the US, does it really say SA1 and 2 are getting removed? Because the US site definitely doesn't say that. I'm wondering if that's a mistake or something (well, I guess I'm wondering what kind of mistake it is).

    Also, go fuck yourself, SEGA.

The only Sonic titles affected will be Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine, Sonic Spinball, and Sonic 3d Blast on Steam and Sonic the Fighters on Xbox. The Adventure games remain on Steam and Xbox. Sonic Heroes will be unaffected because it was never on Steam or Xbox though backwards compatibility.

I can see that they're not on the list for me, I'm just wondering about what HEDGESMFG said, which is that apparently the EU site claims the Adventure games are also being removed.

I only see it list Adventure and Adventure 2 on the German and Italian pages of the SEGA Support website. I don't see it anywhere else. If you're gonna make claims like this at least have the courtesy to link it man.

I don't know if the SA games are region specific delistings. They don't appear on the Japanese page for example. It would be ridiculous to delist them over there as they just got them.

Okay, that's confirmation. So an additional "Go fuck yourself SEGA" is in order, along with a "what the fuck SEGA?", because uh...what? Why? I seem to remember it wasn't even that hard to purchase the US versions when I saw a foreign user struggling with it one time (anecdotal: might be wrong). If we're really saying there might be some collection coming out, it makes no sense that they'd delist the Adventure games specifically in European territories, since A. Sonic is at his biggest in western territories and B. They're definitely not just making SA1 and 2 a couple faces in the crowd. I guess if they make it "Sonic Origins volume 2", then SA1 and 2 would be the actual selling points with the seven remaining classic games as hangers-on? But probably not.

Bros, why is Hoshino reminding people of that critical and commercial embarrassment that was heavily featured in Shadow Generations?? He's not reading the memos.

Now's as perfect a time as ever to attempt 'Sonic 06 But Good' if they're really going there. They've been getting so gimmicky with all the Emerald and Doom Powers lately that they might as well give telekinesis another try. I kinda hate Silver in Sonic 06 but I think it might actually be impossible for current Sonic Team to not handle him at least a little better.
