TIME IS RUNNING OUT TO SUBMIT! In order to enter the contest, you must submit a playable entry by Sunday 9th October. Remember that there is a further week for updates to be made - all updates must be made by the deadline of Sunday 16th October. Those marked as Incomplete at this deadline will not be considered for the contest.
Just to pass the message on and as a general reminder - if you're a trial member or otherwise cannot submit due to not being a full member, please contact one of the judges and we should be able to grant an exception to you. We've given exception to a handful of people already, so please don't hesitate to contact us.
As people have been confused with deadlines, we are making Sunday the LAST day before the deadline expires. In other words, you can still enter to the contest on the Sunday and not worry about not being able to submit. The cutoff has to be manually done and will be done whenever Cinossu wakes up Monday in the BST time zone so get your stuff in this Sunday and remember the additional week for updates.
A reminder that TODAY is the last day that submissions to the contest will be allowed. After this, no new submissions will be permitted but existing entries can be updated until the end of next Sunday. Remember, if you are having issues uploading your entry, attach an external link that will lead to the actual download for now. If you are unable to add an external link, put it in your entry's comment section and we will manually upload the entry (size permitted) to our server at the end of the updates deadline.
Alright, we're in the final hours. From this post, you've got around six hours, as it seems I'm the one pulling the plug this year. When it's midnight my time (UTC-5), I'm flipping the switch, so get to it if you haven't and still plan to.
TIME'S UP! No more new entries can be submitted to the contest. If you didn't enter yet, too late, come back next year. For those that did, remember that you have the additional week of updates you can make up to the end of Sunday 16th October.
Hey everyone! The contest is going great so far, but just a quick head's up! We've come across a couple broken links for hacks that have been submitted. Needless to say, but if they are broken by the time the week grace period is up, your hack will be removed from the contest!! Just go in there real quick and make sure that your links are working alright. A majority of you all are okay, but we can't be arsed to send everyone PMs right now. We need to be judging instead. Thanks for your attention and good luck!! ~The SHC Staff
A reminder that everyone who has submitted to the contest has until the end of Sunday 16th October to refine your entries for judging which will commence after this deadline. You must have your entry marked as either Public or Partial-Private by this deadline or your entry will not be judged. A list of all the entries for this year's contest will be displayed once the deadline is over. These entries will be able to played at the Contest Week from Monday 7th to Sunday 13th November. More details about the Contest Week will be made available very soon, we have been working on getting the streams lined up and also sorting out issues with the website.
Just a quick reminder, in less than 10 hours, the ability to submit your finalized hacks will cease to be. 10 hours people. Get to work. See you tomorrow.
Okay, that's it, the updates deadline is over. If you did not mark your entry as something other than Incomplete, your hack is no longer part of the contest and won't be judged. As always, here is the list of entries this year, all entries will be available to play on the Contest Week from Monday 7th to Sunday 13th November. All entries have been designated Public meaning that everyone will be able to download all of the hacks in this year's contest: 137E0 Action 1 Steak by LuigiXHero Apotos Unleashed Pack by tuanpingas Beta Windy Valley (Sonic Lost World) by SonicOtakuSNG Blue Potato the Mcdonalds by Blue Potato Doctor Robotnik's Plan B (REV01) by Painto Donnie The Chao Special Edition by Team Overload Eggmanland for Sonic Generations by NeKit Ivysaur in Sonic 2 by Pacguy Knuckles’ Emerald Hunt by MainMemory Lose Tails Or Else by GT Koopa Metal Sonic Lost World by Joe T.E. Our judges have been working through this year's entries for the last few weeks and our Media Panel have been preparing their stuff for the Contest Week too. As the Contest Week quickly approaches, here are a few things to note: On Saturday, we will open our official Discord Server to the public. Aside from the forum threads, this will be the only place to chat about this year's contest, there is no IRC Channel this year. Also on Saturday we should be able to reveal our streaming lineup for this year. Just like previous years, there will be various streams taking place during the day and night. I am intending on doing a stream this Sunday which showcases hacks that have been entered in previous years. It will take place from 7pm GMT / 2pm EST. There will be a Mini Contest during the Contest Week, for anyone considering working on something during the week. Find out what it entails this Monday. Oh and for all the social media nutjobs out there, we have a Facebook and Twitter for you to get involved with. Don't ask us why it took this long for these pages to surface.
This is my first SHC, so sorry if this is a noobish question, but when I try to log in with my Retro account, it keeps saying I'm not logged in. Is it because the contest has ended or is this on my part?
Alright, the SHC Discord is open for all to access! Here's an invite to it for people to join with: https://discord.gg/mZhVjKt
