But yeah, if the vote thing they did does in fact dictate what will be in the game, you have to wonder what the storyline would be. I'm betting time travel fuckery. Like Eggman traveling through time to collect Chaos Emeralds or whatever, and Sonic and Tails have to chase him?

Something along those lines, I'd suspect. I hope we get some interesting interaction between the Classic guys and the Modern ones going on, too. I'd love to see that.

 

My own personal speculation is that if the Wii is left out, that means it will be a PSN/Xbox Marketplace digital game, one which exceeds the size limits of the Wiiware titles. This is what has happened with Super Meat Boy and Marvel vs Capcom 2.

 

No. Chances are they might just leave the Wii, since it got a fairly good Sonic game just a few months ago...remember?

I seriously, seriously doubt Sonic and Mario will ever appear in a platformer together. I'l never believe that until I see it myself.

 

What if eggman does want to go back in time, but to stop Sonic from ever becoming a hero in the first place? So he goes back to GHZ, but yet sonic does his thing. and in the process breaks his time thing from going backwards, so his only choice is to go forwards. So Eggman tries to stop sonic as several points through history, giving us all of our key areas. If you want I guess the game can end in space where the time device messes up and double Sonic appears, x2 super sonic, final boss, etc.

I just don't like how people on other sites are talking if there is going to be co-op in story.

 

After Colors I'm more than willing to give them the benefit of the doubt if they polish it up and add in the spin dash/rolling like a marble in Zones/levels again.

Colors was just fun, and that's all I want to have in Sonic games again. Fun.

Except original Sonic is just an appearence. Mario is a totally different character, different franchise and obviously they were considered rival games for years. The olympic games with them both in aren't exactly big so they don't count. You've also got the problem of if a platforming game had both characters in, who would design it? Neither company would really be willing to part with their mascot. Just saying.

Anyway, seeing as the trailer says Coming 2011, provided there are no delays, it may be out in Christmas, so...when do you think we'll see some gameplay or screenshots?

The point I was trying to make is that anything is possible now, it seems to be the trend in the industry lately. See Legends 3 and Duke Nukem Forever. The impossible is finally possible.

I'm calling it story-wise; Eggman manages to summon forth a powerful ancient ally, that remains mostly silent but overcomes him at the end of the game for the real final boss.

Only, said all-powerful force is more Eggman, 1991 style. FUCK YEAH.

I saw the pic on the front of retro, and thought it was fanart. Then that moment when they were both slowmoing a swan dive, that was the best moment of my life. Period. I have big hopes for this game.

In regards to this, I've generally these days related Sonic Team as Dimps (as they use the name regularly). So the fact that it wasn't there could mean that Dimps has no relation to it :D:D:D:D

 

Sega DID delist Sonic 06 though, they want everyone to forget about it, unfortunately putting '06 levels in the 20th anniversary game, despite the fact that now they might do something good with them, accomplishes the opposite of that.

And Heroes was too polarizing, and most of its levels too long, not to mention that there's no much point on bringing back Heroes levels without the team mechanics.

I am still in utter disbelief. I can't believe it. 12 years. It's been 12 years since we've seen Sonic of yesteryear. And he's finally back. It's just so wonderful.

I agree with him: they should listen to their fans. They appear to be doing that. I can only hope that this bodes well for Generations and Sonic 4 Episode 2 (although the cynic in me says "not really").
