  1. You're playable in multiplayer, the multiplayer mode involves yelling at the computer screen about green eyes, the person who yells the loudest wins, you can also play as your Mii

I'm SO going to race as myself against my Mii ... or my Mii against myself.

    While drunk on BaconJack Daniel's.

Anyways, back 2 the Anniversary. Anything new yet?

Not to mention de-listing any below-average Metacritic-scoring Sonic title to preserve the franchise integrity.

I'm convinced Sega are taking huge strides in the right direction. Thought I'm hesitant to admit it, lest I fall into another helpless 'Sonic Cycle'.

  4. Today we did the interview with Howard Drossin for my show Destroy All Slackers, and there was a portion of the show he asked us to edit out. Draw your own conclusions :ssh:

    Oh who cares, it's Howard Drossin. Crap what is he doing for the 20th anniversary, you can't be playing with my heart like that ;_;

Hey, if Sonic Anniversary is supposed to be some big remix of old Sonic levels, I can't imagine Lava Reef would be left out. It's definitely the most fun of all the cave/lava stages (with Mystic Cave in a close second, of course), and the boss was fantastic.

Personally, I'd like to see an homage to Flying Battery, if not the level itself. I'd have to say FBZ is my favorite of all the classic zones, or at least in my top 3.

And I'd have to absolutely agree with you. Absolutely everything in FBZ is perfect, at least to me.

Didn't Flying Battery Zone get destroyed though?

    ...twice?

  10. With the amount of times Sonic & Knuckles has been re-released I'd say it's been destroyed many more times than that

I was referencing the fact that Knuckles goes through Flying Battery Zone in his story, despite the fact that Sonic already destroyed it in his runthrough (although, to be fair, you can blame the Eggster for firing all the bombs and lasers onto the floor of this ship itself.)

We went through all the anniversaries on the last page....and didn't mention NiGHTS' 15th? Really? :psyduck:

I'd love to pester you for more information Kail, but that would probably only get you and/or Drossin in trouble. Hype levels have exploded through the roof though.

  14. The only thing I can say is listen to this week's Destroy All Slackers, I may have edited out the big one, but there's tons of other little nuggets of wisdom the fandom will DEFINITELY find interesting, it's not just another "ask the same questions, get the same answers" interview, we actually got some gold out of him.

Fair enough, although explanations are given as to why they show up again. It isn't much more than "Eggman rebuilt it, lol," I'll admit, but Flying Battery isn't given an explanation or a purpose for showing up again unscathed in the manual. You could argue that EggRobo did it, but I don't see why Eggman would build a third one after hashing out the Egg Carrier and the Egg Fleet. I imagine Sky Deck or Egg Fleet being represented over Flying Battery if, in fact, this 20th anniversary revisiting of classic levels rumor is true.

I do like Flying Battery though. I don't like the bottomless pit area, though. That can go die in a fire. Preferably a hot one. For a while.

Drossin is involved? Wasn't he involved in Sonic Chronicles too?

Oh, I'm thinking of someone else then, perhaps.

I have yet to hear anything at all from Black Knight's soundtrack.

Maybe you're thinking of Richard Jacques?

While a anniversary remix album would be nice, I'm very interested in seeing this rumoured 'anniversary remake' game people have been mentioning. Then again, if it's going to be rushed and be released half-arsed (like Sonic 06), I'd much rather just have a remix album. =X
