Good gawd... I LOVE the Sonic 2 2P results song. That was one of my favorite songs from Sonic 2 (or even the whole series), glad to see it's used again.

Oh and this isn't really relevant, but... Has Cinossu always been an administrator? I seem to remember him as a tech member or an oldbie or something before...

It's funny, because I hear that arpeggio in Chemical Plant Zone and I can only think of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9NoouajYw8M (probably because I've been playing lots of OOE lately, but eh)

I d are say the CPZ remix has more in common with that than the original.

That emulation is awful, it is way too slow. The real NGPC sounds a lot better than that.

One of the reasons I love SPA so much is because of it's OST. It was like getting a Sega Master System remix of the Sonic & Knuckles soundtrack.

    Awesome, underrated game.

  4. I remember getting Sonic Unleashed (Xbox 360) like 4 days early from Gamestop because they got it in stock and didn't know the exact release date.

This is really exciting, but its disappointing to know they have no future plans for Classic Sonic. As much as the front page article on Retro would like to think, it is a little surprising. (I mean they are making a big deal out of bringing Classic Sonic back, just to say "Yeah just this once guys, what more do you expect from us?")

Still going to get the Steam PC copy as soon as it's available though.

This music, IT IS AAAAAAAWESOME! Ahem... Now that I got that out of my system, I must pass on my thanks as well for the people doing streams and rips, as well as thanking anyone that will be streaming it at a later time. From what little we have seen thus far though I have to say I'm enjoying it.

So um, is the final boss phase 2 music a remix of the Sonic 1 title screen theme? Since it's also the theme of Generations, and if we follow 06, Unleashed, and Colors, this is what would be expected from the final boss music...that would be pretty crazy if they pulled that off.

Why do people keep acting like "no plans" means "it won't happen ever again nuh-uh no how nope nope nope"? I was browsing Neogaf the other day and it was embarassing to see so many people losing their shit over a pretty generic piece of business-talk.

This isn't the biggest news, but apparently some reviewer from European regions is trying to sell of their review copy on Ebay. Ohhh, that is just asking for trouble.

Amusingly by the time you got this the game would already be out.

I don't know why he's calling it 'uber rare'. Sure, a review copy might be quite cool and harder to come by, but I wouldn't say it's worth purchasing for anything at or above retail price. :/

Just wondering - do review copies have things pre-unlocked or is it just the normal game, no real changes?

Because I am sorely tempted. Damn you, staggered release dates for Europe.

Usually there aren't really any changes, as far as I know. Typically the company sends the game and a guide so that the reviewers can get through the game but other than that I'm not sure. If there is it's nothing that would really make it worth more than a normal copy.

Well, I guess I'll be buying their games "just this once" too then. Ah well, it's not like they were competent enough to nail the Classic gameplay anyway.

This all really depends on the company. I work for Rely on Horror and we get review copies of horror games (and sometimes some other things), and I can tell you most of the time it's just the normal game except not in a fancy box (usually a plastic CD carrier) and the disk usually stats bluntly this disk is not for retail. Sometimes a guide, or "information" on the game will be included with it. However, on some rare occasions the game might be a bit different from the retail version. The one I can say from experience for example is that the Shadows of the Damned review copy disk had a debug level select available, whilas you can't even select what stage you want to go to in the retail game.

However, I would only go for this if the price stays low. So far, it's good. But once people start bidding, it likely is going to get costly quickly and if it gets to be higher than the regular price of the game, don't go for it. Especially since, again, you'd be getting this about the same time as Europe release.

EDIT: Oh, I also almost forgot to mention this. Some game's review code WILL NOT work unless you have a developers console. This isn't true all the time, but it does happen so retail stuff like this does not happen.

Okay then, I've put a bid in.

I'll make sure to stay away from this thread until I get it, except maybe to moan about how I may not have won the bid. :v:

If it has some sort of developers only lockout then I guess it'll serve as a neat little trinket to go alongside the Collectors Edition.

Meh, it ends in 2 days, Sunday, posted on Monday, optimistically processed and delivered by Tuesday, 3 days early is hardly worth the effort for a potentially incomplete product. For me anyway, I orered that big special edition the second it started existing lol

  18. Sorry to burst anyone's bubble but I asked the guy where he got that copy from and his reply had me in stitches

"I found it at a car boot sale"

Yeah good luck on that one guys.

Carboot sales are the best way to offload stolen stuff though, if anything, now the guy selling on ebay could be held accountable for stealing it or recived stolen merchendise XD

I suspect that there will be no major changes, but in case there is I will send the item to someone at Sonic Retro so it can be analysed by someone who actually knows how to delve into it.

Also, I don't doubt the legitimacy very much, but just in case I did send a question asking for them to show a picture with their eBay username next to it written on a pice of paper. If they chicken out I'll cancel my bid.

EDIT: Shit, didn't see that post. Stolen, you say? Do you think it is? Could I get into trouble with the law for putting in an offer to purchase an item which I did not know was stolen? Would it be a good idea to cancel my bid now, anyways?
