Omg.These songs make me want to cry tears of joy. It's new nostalgia, the best of both worlds, and dear god it's wonderful.

DAMN IT BE TUESDAY NOW. I am just in love with this game

THAT Chemical Plant. It sounds so fantastic! And a bold move to slow down the melody so much, but it really pays off. I love it so much.

Sky Sanctuary is not nearly as impressive to me. But this could easily be because I've been spoiled by the Project Chaos version; that's a freakin' work of art.

Everything about the presentation of this game is an absolute home run.

.....Not that you SHOULD ask for any specific tracks to be ripped anyways, seeing as how doing so will likely net you one of Retro's many terrible "vacations". Seriously, these guys need a better travel agent :v:

 

The Network song is a remix of the Sonic Mega Collections theme.

EDIT: Precious Time is a remix of Tube Panic from Knuckles Chaotix.

 

For those of you enjoying that Collection Room music, it's MUCH more reminiscent of this than the original file select. I spent SO many hours listening to this, but I know a lot of us missed out on Sonic Jam:

Dat Sonic 2 2player Results Theme. :,) Having flashbacks. Makes me wanna travel back in time during the Genesis & Saturn Era.

 

Although the Sky Sanctuary remix goes a long way to making that song enjoyable (I generally tire of quickly, perhaps because it's used far too much during S&Ks ending), I am not digging the Chemical Plant remix so much. The lead is buried in too deep (oh boy, more crappy lead synths) and they've had to make it twice as slow compared to the rest of the song in order to fit it in with what they're trying to do.

I...don't hate it exactly; there's a good song to be found in that. If it wasn't trying to be Chemical Plant, I think I'd really enjoy it!

 

Def. awesome so far. I know I shouldn't say this, but the second you can get out dat Speed Highway Classic tune, I'm on that Chimpo and a certain monkey girl. :v: *brick'd*

Hmm.. so I preodered Generations from Gamestop, so I'm gonna try to tell them that Monday's the last day I'll be in town and see if they'll give me it and the preorder bonus a day early. Probably won't work, but hey, it's a try. Might convince them considering I've already paid full price for it.

 

When I listened to CPz act 2 I couldn't type anything right! It's just that awesome! Definitely waiting for the speed up version of the songs! Thanks for the rip, Hinchy and Jack

 

I personally love it; perfect music for a "run through a giant factory and break EVERYTHING" kind of level. I'd like to think of the song as not "trying to be Chemical Plant," but rather a different take on it (hence "re-imagining" :v. It ceartenly isn't like the original, but it's a damn fine song.

 

Well, to put it another way, it doesn't feel as fast as I would expect from a song representing a stage with the pace of Chemical Plant (cranked up even higher because of boost) to be.

Now, if they were to somehow slow down the lead like that while Sonic was underwater and play it at a tempo closer to the original, I'd probably be all over that shit. But that's neither here nor there.

 

If that's the only reason you think Sky Sanctuary is overused, then I take it you never played Sonic Pocket Adventure. Most unfitting final boss music...ever...

Seriously....

And yeah, this OST reeks of awesome. The nostalgic feel of this reminds me of the wait for Castlevania Harmony of Despair's soundtrack to come out, that was also worth the wait. I definitely want this OST. day one.

 

Sonic Pocket has unfitting music but it's - still - an awesome OST ;P

 

Dude, Chemical Plant has a music cue from Rusty Ruin Act 1 Genesis version.

The music at the 1:00 mark is similar to Act 2's intro. It's the same instrument.

 

For some reason I find myself disagreeing with that sentiment. It's not a theme that signifies the terrifying, overwhelming-in-comparison-to-everything-you've-faced-thus-far might have the final boss; in this context it's a theme that represents the courage and strength of the player in their final fight to save the world beyond all odds and obstacles.
