Sonic Generations Megathread

I could certainly imagine Mecha Sonic acting like a high speed varient of Zero from SA1, chasing you around at different intervals, can be attacked but not stopped, then come to levels end where everything is falling apart, he comes one last time like a bat out of hell adding greater diffuculty to the chase scene before the level finally ends. Having a scheme like that would work perfectly imo without having to resort to the original ideal of Mecha Sonic.

 

I really hope they will add Mecha Sonic, because he's my favorite boss in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. But since I don't have faith that Sonic Team will do it, I'll believe it when I see it. I actually do wonder if they'll even reveal the remaining stages before the game comes out. I kinda hope they do!

 

Orrr we could just, you know, not have a chase scene? For the umpteenth time? In every single level?

Anyone else feel like this bit's gonna get old fast? They had better add some variety to these chase scenes other than 'holding X while quick stepping' or 'holding X while on rails and rail hopping', otherwise it's gonna get rather stale for me.

I mean, what's next, Speed Highway's running down the building bit gonna have a giant helicopter that chases/shoots at you on the way down the building?

Don't know about anyone else, but it got old and stale to me midway through Unleashed. It, and every part involving the quickstep, are little more than HD versions of this fucking Happy Meal toy.

 

I'm sure I've said this multiple times, but I'll repeat. Again.

All the new gameplay style needs is a different focus in level design. Keep the boost + design levels using it cleverly = Profit.

Aww I was hoping for green eyes classic super sonic but I guess the S2 look is about as classic as you get.

EDIT: Also I suspect the reason they didn't go with green eyes is to avoid confusion for younger kids.

Kinda like the 'I thought the Green Lantern was black?' thing but with Sonic and eye color and idiots.

Though Classic's poses are pretty awesome. Nice animation and design on the team's part!

 

Well modern Supersonic has red eyes in every other game, so the eye color changing shouldn't be anything outrageous.

Plus it'd complete the DBZ homage.

 

Thats why I don't use photobucket. there like the youtube of images allways watching what you upload it bugs me. Imageshack doesn't care as long as it isn't porn but even then you can get around that.

 

Good thing I saved them both, just in case this would happen.

Oh, and I was one of the lucky people who got to try out GHZ Classic and Modern before Sega reps disabled it due to the "White World" glitch. Got an A rank on Modern, got an S on Classic. lol But yeah, both CE and GHZ played great, and Sonic is noticeably easier to handle at slow speeds, at least it seems that way to me. I love how you can run on the grass in CE Modern.

The amount of alternate paths in CE (both versions, but especially Classic) made me quite happy, though some of them are kinda hard to take.

 

I'm hoping the next level is Crisis City and Sky Sanctuary, the later for obvious reasons and the former because I really want to see the Generations version and the improvements they made.

I kind of wanted to see Radical Train instead of Crisis City at one point because even if Crisis City has a better level design and a more interesting level trope I feel that Radical Train fits with the Unleashed gameplay much more, but that's just my opinion.

 

Damn, they forgot that Classic Super Sonic is muscular :v:
