  1. I have a very high quality one of the second picture.

  2. I was going to PM you but, could we have them?

  3. Potentially, all of the boss battles could just end up being in 2D. 2D is the common ground both Sonic's share so it'd allow them to share bosses (with tweaks applied), as opposed to having separately programmed versions of the same boss - if they were going to program a 2D version of the Silver fight and a 3D version of the Silver fight, they'd be so different that they might as well have just made two separate bosses.

Just a tin foil hat theory though, hopefully SEGA will do something cleverer than that.

...I think that would be precisely the point, making two different bosses rather than a character swap. Same as in the whole game.

I'm still expecting Robotnik to be a prominent boss for each zone. I'm just thinking the character battles listed will be thrown in as bonuses, like mid-bosses, rather than replacing Robotnik outright. But we honestly have no idea about it outside of the leaked title cards png. In fact, let's run it down:

    Zone Title Cards
    • Green Hill
    • Chemical Plant
    • Sky Sanctuary
    • Speed Highway
    • City Escape
    • Seaside Hill
    • Crisis City
    • Rooftop Run
    • Planet Wisp
    • Death Egg
    Boss Title Cards
    • Metal Sonic
    • Perfect Chaos
    • Shadow
    • Silver
    • Egg Dragoon
    • Time Eater

10 zones (or 9 if "Death Egg" represents a boss battle), 6 bosses. Metal Sonic has already been tied with Chemical Plant via having Stardust Speedway Bad Future grafted to it, and it almost kinda makes sense since Sonic 2 & CD were in development at the same time. Perfect Chaos would logically go to Speed Highway, as the battle takes place within Station Square anyways. Shadow's battle would take place in the City Escape zone (albeit technically using the Final Rush set or some other set), Silver's would take place in Crisis City (unsure where his battle would take place), and Egg Dragoon would take place in Rooftop Run (and then segue to the center of the earth or something). Time Eater would be the obligatory final boss. That leaves Seaside Hill, Green Hill, Sky Sanctuary, Death Egg (if it's not a boss), and Planet Wisp unaccounted for. As far as title cards go, there's still the unexplained Infomation Pod, ???, and Genesis.

I suppose it's possible we'll just get Robotnik battles with the zones leftover and the special title card battles for the rest. We'll see, but remember: there are two Sonics each with their own 2-act zones, so chances are they each have a third boss act that may or may not be different from each other.

For lazyness' sake SEGA's probably going to make Death Egg a one-act boss battle like in Sonic 2 to get it over with, but I REALLY hope it's a full-on act. Besides, if it is a boss, chances are it's after Sky Sanctuary. It would make sense, story-wise at least, since in Sky Sanctuary Zone, after you fight Mecha Sonic (which will most likely be a fight in this game given the care the designers are giving the levels), you run up a spiral to Death Egg Zone. Having that as a zone where you go running around instead of just fighting a bad guy would be a whole lot more fun, and more memorable IMO (Who didn't love going in Death Egg Zone to find out it was a stage as opposed to Sonic 1's final boss?).

And wait, 2-act zones? With a boss fight? Do you have proof of this claim? (also I don't know how some stages will work with that, what with City Escape's truck race happening in "Act 1" apparently, as well as most of the level already appearing minus some added areas.)

The boss act (or third act with a boss at the end) I just figured (hence the "chances are" clause), but I do believe it's been confirmed that each Sonic will have two acts per zone, no comment on whether or not the second zone will have a boss fight.

Or was it just that each zone will have two acts, one for Modern and one for Classic? I believe it's the former, but someone please correct me on that.

Mostly non-Sonic-related, but I make cartoons.
My understanding was that there would be just be two acts-- 1 classic, 1 modern-- per zone, and then some extra missions and stuff taking place within those same areas.

There's one Modern Sonic Level, and one Classic Sonic level. Each one gives you a key, you use the key to play the boss level, which probably (like unleashed) just switches back and forth with each world: Classic, Modern, Classic, Modern, etc.

I thought there was supposed to be one rival battle and one boss battle per "era".

  12. I apologise in advance for stopping having read up to that point but I just don't think that would be the route they go. I can understand the logic behind it, being that Chemical Plant Zone and Metal Sonic Boss fight were revealed together and such but I have to agree strongly on the point that Chemical Plant would lead / chance into Stardust Speedway.

Ever seen that AoSTH long-episode where they time travel about with Sonic's shoes / board to collect 4 chaos emeralds from different eras? Like Pirates, Egypt and some Robot fish (I honestly can't remember it well). I'm kinda hoping for something similar to that in terms or time travel, or that of StH'06 's time rifts (albeit not a level object, but an idea / mode of transport). What I'm getting to is that in between zones would be cut scenes or ever just Warp / Time holes between them. That being it isn't all just one big map (Colours)

I'll support Chimera's query on where the news of 2 Acts for each Sonic per Zone came about. As someone already stated, I was under the impression it was going to be Act 1: Classic, Act 2: Modern, Act 3~418940: Bonus annoying missions.

What is this. The only way I vaguely understood this post was thinking key's similar to the annoying point-and-click hub worlds of Sonic Unleashed for PS2 and Wii, and that was DREADFULL.

I'm sad because this is most likely true, given the information we have. Look at it this way:

    Classic
    • Metal Sonic
    • Death Egg (cry)

    Dreamcast
    • Shadow
    • Perfect Chaos

    Modern
    • Silver
    • Egg Dragoon

    Ah well. Seems good anyway.

Anyone else catch in Sonic Anniversary YouTube video that Sega changed the life icon in Sonic Generations to the Sonic Team logo? Methinks a newer build may be coming for Demo #2.

This marks the third time someone said this. Yes we notice, though I think it's not that new since there were two similar life icons in the game's file system.

Though that image had text written over it, heh... (Now that I look at it it looks a little different than the one in the video, so correct me if I'm wrong.)

Well, those are new.. to me. Most of them, anyway, like the purple shining orb, the Chao (or what appears to be a Chao) card, the pig, the Knuckles coin and whatever the emblem on the top right corner means.

Here's a solution for the Stardust Speedway music:

During the title card, press "Button 1" for the JP version, and press "Button 2" for the US version. Just like Sonic's snowboard in SA1.

Skyler: I'm sure that would please EVERYONE.

But honestly, why not just do a mash-up fast paced remix of both tracks? All the music in this game, save for a few original tracks, are going to be remixes of past songs. If Stardust Speedway is going to be an epic race, why not just make the music equally as epic? :B

Though if nobody likes my idea I'm down for the "Button 1/Button 2" method.

Damn, I was really expecting some new info from Comic Con. Probably too late for that now, but oh well. I saw a video of some dude playing the game, but it was still only GHZ Classic and Modern.
