Sonic Generations Megathread

That is what I think as well for the Classic gameplay only being released. They could also be wanting to hear everybody's feedback on how it plays and see if they can make any changes or improvements for the better. I really do think Sega is trying to make this game the best it can be, you can see a lot of love and time put into this just by seeing Crabmeat falling over laughing at you lol and all the cameos in City Escape. Maybe they weren't ready to put Modern gameplay in the demo for whatever reason as well.

But it does seem like Sega just wants everyone to focus on Classic, think about it to Modern fans Classic gameplay is something very new. More than half of the Modern fans today have never played the Classics an example of this is when everyone thought Classic Sonic was Sonic and Amy's kid. >.> I've been hearing all day either Classic only, then both and now Classic again, whatever they release is fine by me really, I'm just happy we get something at all. Another thought that just occurred to me is that what if after the Classic gameplay demo expires they release a Modern only demo of Green Hill for 20 days? That could be another possibility.

 

Well then, I'll make one available with no commentary as well.

 

the Duke Nukem forever demo is up on US Xbox live just now. (however not on JP)
No sign of Generations on JP or US Live so far, 2:58 AM
I wonder if they place demos up 1 at a time or all at once for a given day...

But yeah, this is bizarre. The demo's PS3 exclusive so far, and in Japan, there's only 8 hours left in sonic's anniversary, yet no generations to celebrate it with.
Wonder if they're having problems with Microsoft? Microsoft doesn't usually do mid-day updates on Xbox Live; if this holds true, then Asia won't get Sonic Generations until tommorow, after Sonic's birthday ends.

600MB for one level seems -very- fishy....now this is just speculation, but maybe Sega plans to issue a title update to unlock the modern sonic portion of the demo after a certain period of time, and Microsoft has a problem with how they're going about doing that?

The Phantasy Star Universe demo, ironically also by SEGA, faced similar problems because Microsoft explicitly told them they could not moderate or ban people from playing the demo online, which is why the demo had as much chaos as it did until Sega pulled it a couple of months ago.

Did I understand correctly that if I download a demo from a user, who has uploaded it somewhere as a gold, I cannot play it untill I don't put it on jtag?

do u need a payed account to see it in the store or something?
