Sonic Drift 2 actually. Big difference.

Still can't say I'm all that fond of the game's rubberbanding though :P

  4. Well, I must have been totally blind to the fact that Cream was in Sonic CD...As stated, Good job Sega...

It shows the artwork for Sonic Drift 2 but I'm pretty sure the text just says Sonic Drift. I don't have leet Japanese skills, though, just what a friend tells me.

That's obviously because Cream is being added in to Sonic CD in order to promote Sonic 4 Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith.

Ah, perhaps so. Which would mean that they just used whatever image they could find. I suppose I wouldn't put it past them.

Why has no one bitched about the shittly emulated Sonic 1 port? The jump sounded like it came off a cheap 90s hack cart or something. Come on Retro, you're letting me down!

    Because it's not a port.

Dohohoho. A few notes about that:
-It's not present at all in the PC version. Maybe it can be enabled, like the Casino Night DLC?
-As I stated many pages back, you don't get anything at all for completing it, though it does record your time and score.

Well I haven't tried it because I've got a zillion other copies of Sonic 1. So even if it's bad I can't complain.
Are there any direct comparison screenshots of the console/PC versions yet?

As much Sega likes to screw up, I hardly think this one it's their fault, these guides always comes with trivial mistakes.
Let me guess, the guide is from Brady Games....

  14. Bang on the money there. Haven't had time to look through the whole thing, But it has maps of the levels and such too in there. If anything else comedic comes up, I'll take another pic.

While playing Modern Sky Sanctuary, I jumped a little too late for a shortcut and ended up just homing attacking the same zipline I was just on. This happened. Somehow.

Also, I have no idea why the video brightness is so low in this clip. It wasn't like that until I uploaded it.

Wait... this is a Sega game guide, or a Prima game guide?

On my butt in front of the computer. Where else?
I'm working on working up the willpower to work on learning how to make my own Sonic fangames. Not quite there yet.
So, I've finally figured out the final boss. And it only took five or six fucking tries, too. (Kinda had to for the "Can't Touch This" Achievement.)

Right, so here's how it goes:

Hold boost to speed up. Boost is shittily programmed in this fight, as your speed will occasionally be killed by external sources, and for totally fucking arbitrary reasons, such as whenever the boss uses that teleports-his-arm-at-you attack. Press and hold boost again, and keep doing that until your speed comes back. You can tell when you're catching up because objects (debris, rings, missiles, et cetera) will fly by more quickly.

Firing the other Sonic only serves the purpose of destroying debris. In 3D, he homes in on it, and sometimes chains together several debris, but most of the time it's easier to just dodge it by yourself. In 2D, the other Sonic shoots directly forward but will stay on the same plane as your own Sonic, so you can "steer" him by moving up and down. In 2D, Sonic takes longer to return to you when you fire him, and you can't switch planes unless both Sonics are with you. You can hold the fire button to "charge" the shot, but I don't think this serves any purpose but to assist in aiming and timing your shots.

To damage Time Eater, catch up to him, and then dodge upward to avoid his attempt to crush you. Then, boost straight on into the core and hold yourself there until he explodes. This must be done three times, each getting progressively harder (I swear, the third time he just doesn't want to let you get at his core at all, he just keeps on backing away after he attacks you...) Note that firing the other Sonic, despite what the crosshair may suggest, does NOTHING to the Time Eater.

You can damage Time Eater in either perspective, but it's easier to dodge his attacks in 3D. Conversely, it's easier to collect Rings in 2D. Note that as the fight progresses, the boss will begin using a laser-beam attack. The only way I've figured out how to avoid it is to change perspectives while he's charging it, so that he can't hit you—but changing perspectives re-sets your distance to your target.

  19. Reluctantly posting here, but I wanted to check in to see if any other PC version players are having the issue I am.

The game runs pretty fine for me, my set up isn't the best, but It's working out pretty well...until I start playing the modern rouge side missions. I've only tried the Seaside hill Modern rouge mission, so I'm not sure if what I'll say applies to all of them.

I'll start the mission, it'll be running like normal for awhile, then, after a bit of trying to destroy some eggbots after using rouge's charm move, the game will freeze up. Forcing me to close it with task manager.

Thinking that maybe it's too much for my comp to handle, I've altered my configs, lowered shadow/light quality, and resolution, and it helped a bit, but the game would still freeze regardless. Can anyone check this with their own PC copies to see if the problem is consistent? I did a search over google and managed to find a comment here > http://segmentnext.com/2011/11/04/sonic-generations-crashes-stuttering-fps-freezes-and-fixes/ That described the same problem I had.

Other than that, My time with the game has been pretty good.

Anybody had any problems starting the game up relating to a Config tool? A friend of mine is having such problems with the PC version.
