Request to have that Sonic stand on top of the Sonic 2 Master Emerald in the Retro Logo instead of the current picture. Nothing says classy like Classic sonic in a Top hat with a monocle and a cane looking like a boss.
I wish. I tweeted at them last year asking when we're gonna see a Sonic Monopoly and they replied spouting off some nonsense about Oil Ocean.
>Play Casino Night Pinball >Look at picture >PROFIT [inlinespoiler]I'm above the [inlinespoiler]99%[/inlinespoiler] ???'s[/inlinespoiler] And believe it or not I found that thing on Facepunch a few minutes ago, but it was in one of the last 10 pages (probably the 2nd out of the last 10, so it was out for a little while :v
Finally got the 3DS version's multiplayer to work. Boy howdy, random fucking balls of electricity slapped in the middle of the course is a fantastic way to balance out differing players' skill levels and reward those who have spent time perfecting the levels. Go to hell, Dimps.
Argh, the "power-ups" in the 2P mode of Colors were absolutely useless in vs. CPU play and mainly just a major annoyance. A shame, too, since those levels weren't too bad.
[LINK] According to Metacritic, Sonic Rush Adventure was the most poorly received handheld Sonic game by Dimps but 78/100 is still a pretty respectable score and a much better track record than most of the Sonic games released in the last ten years. Now a week after the 3DS version of Generations has launched, the game currently has a Metacritic score of 66/100. What's sad is that they probably put more effort into the physics of this game than any title since the Advance series, but the gameplay seems to have gotten much worse compared to the Rush titles based off of critic reactions. Hopefully their next game with Sega will be a lot better since they're obvious learning from some of their mistakes while making some new ones. :/
The physics may be good but no amount of fantastic physics in the world can combat a short game with shitty level design.
I actually vist the Facepunch thread you got the picture from regularly and that picture isn't official. It was mace by luigimario.
Outta curiosity, does anybody know if there's something going on with the 3DS version? I went to order it at the local game store I go to and they actually couldn't. Their distributors web page said something about special authorization required, and he'd never seen that before. He couldn't get a straight answer out of them either. I ended up going to Wal-Mart for it and paid 29.99 which is by far less than a normal 3DS game, particularly given that it just came out. Anyways, my opinion. Overall the game is good. Classics physics feel more off to me than the consoles do tbh, but that's probably just more noticeable because of the layout rehashes. Only truly shitty stages were the Dreamcast Era ones. The classic and modern era stages are much much better. Difficulty mostly comes from cheapness, but given that's been the case of all handheld Sonic games since Sonic Advance 2 its just to be expected. Bosses are muuuuch better here than they were for the console version, and though the rivals races are quite literally just races they still felt pretty fun if only for a Sonic Rivals reference. TLDR: 3DS version isn't total shit aside from Dreamcast Era.
Thanks for the advice. First I tried the ATI Custom Resolution Tool, entered "0800x450x60" and "0640x360x60" And I got this error message: So then I tried the manual method, and after opening the registry editor I only got this far. Did I screw something up along the way? Is there a better place to ask about this?
What's the trick to landing on that upper area after the spring ? (around 0:30) Whenever I manage to land on the yellow spring it pushes me back for some reason.
Sorry, I've never used that app before, just found it with a quick google search. It seems to be a bit crappily programmed. Anyway, make sure to use exactly four digits for both the vertical and horizontal dimensions. Include leading zeroes (eg. 0640x0360x60) so that the format on each line always is "AAAAxBBBBxCC", then it should work. I tried it now (ran Sonic Generations in glorious 320x224 pixels) and the app does work when used that way. First, click "Get current resolutions" to load the existing custom resolutions, then add your own (or edit the existing), then click "Save table". And finally "Restart ATI driver" to activate the new resolutions (alternatively, a reboot of Windows will activate them as well, but restarting the driver is faster). See the little triangle in front of the SYSTEM "folder"? That means it can be expanded / opened. You need to expand it before you can proceed.
I picked up Generations on 3DS. So far no real complaints aside from the occasionally shitty physics and the lack of anti-aliasing when you turn the 3D off. C'mon game devs, if Zelda OoT 3D could do it, you can too.
To be fair even Super Mario 3D land didn't have AA with 3D off. 3DS review incoming after final boss. S ranked everything else.
I have to say this now. This is amazing. Especially when he works on corkscrews AND spins with the board in the tube. So amazing.
