I don't suppose anyone can send me the Xbox360 version of the #application.ar00 can they?

While we're on the subject of finding files, is there any chance someone has a download location for the Sonic Unleashed physics parameter file(s)? I've been a bit curious about how that handles.

    A seemingly new project appears.

This game is starting to become the new SADX/Blitz Sonic. The latter more so.

Wooh... Been terribly busy with work and have no idea what's been happening for the past few months here (other than Unleashed shaders and a few other things I just read about, but...)

Anyway, I'm just going to dump a few random questions and things here since I'm not really sure where to put them:

    1. I used SonicGLVL recently and was... sort of kind of able to place a few objects and have them sometimes work on occasion... Am I doing something wrong? I've heard that the program is very easy to use, but I feel like I don't really sure what I'm doing... I've used other 3D game development tools and have done a bit of 3D modeling and programing, so I figured I'd be able to figure it out, but it seems impossible to figure out where Sonic may be sent off if I set x to y with a distance of z etc. And it's difficult to test since it takes 3 or so minutes to start the game with the intro videos removed, and another 30 seconds to start the level itself. Not fun when I need to tweak the distance of something down to a 0.01th of a degree.

    2. Is there still no method to create levels/models/animations using only freeware? (Yes, there is 3DS Max, but it sounds like quite a bit of a hassle getting that student version which only lasts for a year. Plus I think I heard they're no longer going to offer that program soon?)

    3. At some point I was watching something on YouTube when someone in the video said how Silver's head looked like a + - marijuana plant   . Suddenly, hours later, this was spawned:

[IMG] (Yes this is a joke)
    Alternative, non edited images:

I had to figure out how to not make silver only have 3 spikes in front of his face though, since that was kind of the most important part.
...And because of that, I learned how to hex-edit bone/model files to make hedgehog's spikes stiff instead of jellyfishy:

Which I thought looked... not that much different, but still kind of neat since he looks a bit more like the older games aside from the running animation.
I tried the same method on arms and legs, but it just caused the game to crash.

So in conclusion... Sorry for this nonsensical rambling, I'll try to stay more informed and keep it shorter and more organized next time, I'm just a bit exhausted and had a few questions on my mind and a couple dumb things to show...

Havok only provides plugins for 3DS Max. Unless someone's willing to code an entire exporter for Blender, you're out of luck.

Also if your game takes that long to load, get a better computer. :v: There's no other way to test and it's what we've all been doing so far(heck, we had to repack CPKs before every time, imagine how much easier it is now).

Oh ok, so the reason we can't do that is because of Havok's end.
Oh no, I'm definitely appreciative of how much easier it is! This is the first thing I've done since you guys figured out how to add mods without having to repack the cpk's every single time, and it's incredibly easier than it used to be. I only assumed this because I saw some level layouts by other people that look like they would have taken years with the tools we currently have :P. I figured there must be a way to load the levels without having to restart the game (but this usually freezes for me when I do that).

As for my computer, I don't think it's slow?? It runs Sonic Generations at about 40-50 fps on low settings, and around 30-40 on high. (But low looks fine to me, so I'd rather have higher framerate) Does it usually load faster for other people? I usually just have to stare and a black screen for a while, while I wait for it to load.

I can get into a stage less than a minute from booting up the game(10 second logos, 10 seconds more for the menu and loading hub, select stage + enter world 15-20 seconds). I'd recommend you to boot it up via SonicGMI rather than Steam itself, since it tends to be slower for some reason.

Others may not appreciate this, but I sure do, I hate how Modern Sonic's spikes are like giant locks of hair. The dude's a hedgehog, those things are supposed to be defensive :P Good work

For the sake of science, I used a stopwatch this time. No logo removal mod here(as in, I still have logos), it took me 24 seconds to get into the stage(and I jumped by accident before entering the gate), from booting up the game with SonicGMI. This considering Windows does Prefetching if you have opened these files once already during your current session. Considering you likely are using prefetching already when testing quick iterations... yes, get a better computer. :v:

Even without prefetching, it's probably just 10 seconds more.

EDIT: I can assure you my desktop is quite outdated as well by any standards, AMD Athlon x2 2.7ghz BE, 2GB of RAM. I'm not sure if the GPU is relevant for just loading, but if you're curious, it's an AMD Radeon HD 6870. Using a regular SATA hard drive as well, with an average RPM.

*cough*... Okay, please just completely ignore me. I grabbed my clock, and It only took 43 seconds for me to get into Seaside Hill. Apparently I have absolutely no sense of time or patience...

Interesting though, I tried once with the intros removed, and once without, and it took 6-8 seconds longer without the intros compared to with them... I guess I'll leave the intros on for now.

EDIT: (In reply to your edit) I have had issues with this laptop in the past, they had to replace a faulty hard drive... I'm just REALLY hoping this isn't a sign of more issues to come...

    EDIT EDIT:
Thanks! It wasn't technically much work, but I was just surprised I was able to figure something out like that on my own.

As for the 3DS max thing. It's 3 years, not one. Also, last time I checked, they aren't stopping that service. All you need is a e-mail address. Preferably a professional one. My was [email protected] (example [email protected]) and I was able to registered no problem.

    From there faq.

Oh okay! I guess my teacher was a bit misinformed. He had also said we needed to use our school email, as they only accepted .edu emails. I guess I'll go ahead and do that.

Oh man, this looks so bad. What a shame. Though the idea is pretty neat, just need some better execution.

I can understand that the level's geometry is still being worked on and that many things are not done on it, but there's just no excuse for the abuse of the first sub-boss sprites in the background.

Although I still do hope this guy's idea is well executed, because I personally find it to be pretty cool.

If anyone hasn't guess already, the ScoreTimeTable.lua contains the score for A and D rank values. I have the xbox version of that file, so to edit for the PC, you'd need to edit that file.

Herp-derp I didn't know that. That's going to help me a lot, although the Generations scores were kind of fitting already. :v: The xbox version is a text-file?
