Say, where IS the latest version? I've only got one with scaled down Sonic 3 sprites, normal badnicks and GHZ. In fact, I'm not sure I have that anymore...

That's a pic, if it helps. I've tried various different combinations of options when transferring and all of them yield the same result.

  6. Where can I get the newest version?

It's hard because I don't know where it is either, I'd have to search: And you can do that yourself.

AHAH oh... well say that next time XD

and someone wanna explain to me why this fanmade game is a million times better than what the so called professionals can do? I mean wow, that first level was PERFECT! Good job you guys, that's sure showing sega.

    EDIT:
seriously, if you were to show both versions to someone and say, "okay guess which is fan mae and which is professional" what do you think they'd say?

  10. I played this on my Game Boy Micro...

    ...

    ...

Holy shit, this games KILLS Sonic Genesis! No slowdowns, perfect physics...it's totally perfect. Thank you for curing the disease I caught from playing Sonic Genesis!

EDIT: I'm playing a version that says it was last modified last June. Is this the newest? And is there a way to get that white debug text to disappear?

Thank you all. I'm sorry but I'm a little lost too, with all the versions we released. Last modified in june? sounds normal, because we're working on other levels, now, and we didnt make a new release since ages...

I think the one I have is newer, since it has a functional GHZ2 and ARZ boss.

Yes, the lastest version had GHZ + boss + ARZ + boss

  14. Okay, so I'm right. The link I gave with the [6] in the file's name is the newest build. This is extremely faithful to the original.

Very nice... I think that you should e-mail this to SEGA and tell them that this is the way to port sonic to GBA

  16. Honestly, that does not sound like a bad idea.

The physics are far from perfect, so I don't know why you're instantly kissing ass over it... It's a nice game, nice concept, and certainly nice execution so far, but it's far from perfect. The physics are just as bad, if not worse, than Genesis... the difference is, you're actually working on changing that. And that already gives you one up on the developers who made that piece of trash.

For a relative beginner, non-"professional", who's still working on it, this isn't something I'd go out of my way to complain about under normal circumstances. The following statements are not meant in offense to the people responsible for Sonic GBA

You guys can compare and contrast this and Sonic Genesis all you want, though, but you all know just as well as I do that you're only being cock-gobblers because he's "one of us". He's still got work to do, and there's no garantee that it's actually ever going to BE perfect. The simple fact is that you're comparing it to something horrible that was already released, but if this had been released in it's stead, we'd all be bitching pretty much just as hard. This (in it's current state, and possibly even future states) isn't Sonic 1 either. If you're going to be sending ANYTHING to SEGA and telling them "This is what Sonic 1 on GBA should be like", what you SHOULD be sending them is a ROM/Cart of othe original Sonic 1. We never expected that they should have done any less than what it takes to at least 98% faithfully recreate the original Sonic 1, and there's no excuse for it to have turned out as poorly as "Sonic Genesis" did, nor is there any excuse for something of this quality (Sonic GBA) to be officially released as a supposed Sonic 1 reproduction either. You might be able to see that if you'd look past the fact that many of you just want to leech off the credibility of those of us who actually can do something (in reference to the fact that nearly all of you use the word "we" when it comes to showing up SEGA, including cases such as Sonic GBA, Knuckles in Sonic 1, etc...) and actually went to play the real Sonic 1 for a while to get a proper perspective
